Thumbs down Does your glucophage XR do this to you?....

Okay, I've noticed that since I've started taking Gluc I havent been able to get drunk! I drink, and drink, and drink and nothing happens! Well, of course I still get the hangover the next day! Am I the only one? It hasnt been a big deal yet, but my birthday is saturday and I would like to get really drunk! I dont want to miss a dose because I'm going to be taking clomid in a few days (hopefully). Thats another reason, I would like to have a good time on saturday....I'm hoping I will be pregnant *VERY* soon and then no more drinking! This probably makes me sound like a drunk, but really I only drink like once every 6 months. Does this happen to anyone else???

Hi,
I'm not on XR, I'm just on regular Gluc. I've noticed the opposite when I drink - I get really drunk really fast! But I don't ever have a hangover. Go figure! Just drives home the fact that meds affect all of us different.
Good luck with TTC

I am not sure exactly what the warnings are....BUT I have heard you are NOT supposed to drink while taking Gluc. You may want to ask your pharmacist about it. Good Luck!

ok drinking on glucophage is very bad for you. It does not work well with alcohol and your liver!!!!

In fact many women stop taking glucophage for a day or two before so it doesnt hurt them.

Be very careful to read the information regarding the drug, and maybe stop taking the gluc for a night or two.

just be careful.
