| Loving life! Join Date: Mar 2003 Location: Oz ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi girls!! I finally got a chance to read all of the posts I missed... Donna - wow, what a work place! Is it a really massive pharmacy that has several stores (like a franchise?). I can imagine that from a business owners perspective it must be horribly disappointing to have your business go that way too. Happy staff with great morale -> great business... it seems that they need to realise that a bit more, particularly when someone as nice as you is feeling that bad... Sounds like you REALLY need to get out of there asap. When do you think you'll go? Sounds like your tupperware is already overtaken your wage? Kirsten - good luck with organising your party. For DD's 1st birthday I just had a little one with my mother's group, which was easy. Her 2nd birthday I organised a bigger party with the whole family, at the local pool. For DS I didn't even have a 1st birthday party. We just enjoyed it with our immediate family (i.e. the four of us). I find I miss out on the enjoyment a bit when I stress over a party and couldn't see the point when he wouldn't get it anyway. Not saying that a party isn't good, just giving an excuse for me not having organised one, I guess LOL. I'll give DS a party when he's three this year. I'm also trying to instill in my kids that they don't get a party every year. DD is having one this year (aged 6), which is her second 'major' party. We've always done a little party each year with my mother's group though, but that's just some basic party food - fruit platter, fairy bread, cocktail frankfurts and tomato sauce etc etc and cake, and lots of balloons. Simple basic stuff in the back garden. Amy - how's that speech going??? Are you enjoying writing it? Jade - great news on your first sale - I bet you enjoyed it! Nic - physie sounds like great fun! I've never heard of it. I know what you mean about the price of dancing lessons though... we pulled DD out for cost reasons. The price of the lessons is one thing, but tickets for the concerts throughout the year really adds up! We're going to be going to scouts soon (starts age 6) so I can't wait to see how Jenn enjoys that. I loved brownie's as a kid and learned SO many life skills, so I am really hoping the same for my kids. I'll be really disappointed if she doesn't like it. I've been pretty tired lately. Burning the candle at both ends, but I really have a lot to do for the next few weeks, then hopefully it'll lighten up a bit. Oh I have to run. My still sick little boy is asking for a 'big cuddle'. XX

The prev owner was an awesome boss and a beautiful man. He must be so dissappointed - I really feel for him. He had the best staff who all gave nothing but 200% because we loved him. So not like that now. Hopefully tupperware will soon take over and I can leave! Five parties (in the next five days) will well and truely pay off my kit and give me some money. I've just got to keep getting parties from my parties if you know what I mean. Hope Matty feels better soon. Campbell is still not well. He has managed to kick the vomiting virus he had for four weeks or so, then he got a cold which has turned into a terrible cough and he sounded really croupey yesterday afternoon....could be an interesting first five tupperware parties!

So is the celebrity diet, a bit like the Tony Fergurson one? - soups and milkshakes? I wandered whether those things actaully worked! Is it expensive? WOW, your doing really well! 11kgs down!! Congrats! Hey Deb, are you studying hard at the moment? I hadn't thought of Scouts, but that could be a fun activity to get the kids into. I did Physie as a kid (as did my mum!) which is why I knew about it... http://www.physicalculture.com.au/ Looks like there are clubs in NSW, QLD, and VIC, but not the other sates. Its Kid-free tuesday again! Boredom is not an option today!! A bit of housework before lunch, then I'm going to have a Mani and a Pedi!

I kept meaning to reply to your reply at the end of the last thread, but the thread was changed and I completely forgot to go back and read it so I could answer it!! Heh, I was really glad to hear your post. It's always so nice to hear I'm not the only one finding parenting difficult at times! How's the flood water going - has it all gone down now? The flooding in town, was that due to a flash flood, not the actual river levels? I saw the river only got to 7 point something metres and there was flooding whereas last time it was close to nine and didn't flood. I pulled out an old newspaper I have from the 91 floods and saw that it was just over 9 metres then. That last one a month or so ago was SO close to those levels - must've been a bit scary for a lot of people. There's nothing worse than having to clean up a heap of mud and goop after floodwaters have been through your house. I'm lucky that it's never happened to me. Only because my Dad is completely paranoid and has always made sure he (and I) have a flood level search done before buying a house. Have to say it's been good advice. One less thing to worry about iykwim. Nic - still studying, keeping up with the full time levels although I've dropped it back a bit while I do some other work. I was doing it almost twice the full time speed, now I'm back to just filling my full time amount (one subject per month). Yeah, I can't wait for Scouts. I wouldn't mind getting involved and helping out too. I just love camping and outdoor activities, so I think it'd be heaps of fun for us all. Heh Donn - congrat's on your weight loss!! Pretty cool stuff, you're doing SO well. Sounds like you're doing well with the tupperware too. I hope Campbell picks up the poor mite - gastro for a month??? Yuk. We've just cut Matt out of gluten (we're all coeliac) and we've discovered he is too. He had his first solid poo EVER last week, a week after cutting the gluten out. Toilet training was just never going to happen while he had chronic diarrhoea. I knew I had to cut it out when I gave him a bowl of sultana bran and he had really bad watery diarrhoea after it (before that the only gluten he ate was the odd thing and oat muesli bars, no actual wheat). After it cleared up I gave him another bowl and he had watery diarrhoea again, so I figure it was time to cut it out for good. Oh well, at least it's the whole family... Anyway, better go and see what Matt's doing. Sounds like he's playing with the cat's food.

Boy you guys have been copping it up there huh? Hope you get a bit of sunshine to dry things up. Nic, it is one of those meal replacement shake/soup things. It's not too bad, but I'm not a big shake drinker anyway, so I don't particularly enjoy it. I'm happy about the weight loss though! I just phoned work to make sure I still had a job to go to tomorrow, because I didn't want to drive all the way down the mountain to have to turn around and come home again...apparently I still have a job - bummer! ![]() Deb, it was vomiting for a couple of days and then he would be right for a week or so ... for about a month. No diarrhoea with it. Poor little fella. I was just wondering yesterday what age kids could start scouts. There is a scout hall at the park where I took the boys yesterday and thought that they are going to love it when they are old enough. Rohan is hanging to get involved too. Speaking of Rohan, he is still being so nice to me - it's great! He still has his 'male moments' - but it's all good. I have to do a Tupperware party on Sunday (I've only told him around a hundred times) and he rings me thismorning and tells me he is working Sunday. The party is at my SIL's house, so hopefully their kids will be there and they can look after mine. Donna.

That sounds like something John would do, forget about when he's supposed to be minding the kids. Well, something he has done a lot... Men. Memories like sieves sometimes when it comes to something their wife has told them LOL.

Oh, I don't know how I'm going to hang out until dinner time!!! It's a slow-cooked lamb recipe that I made up with what we had. Pumpkin, fresh cherry tomatoes, marjorum, spring onions and garlic from out the garden, as well as other stuff I 'threw' in - buckwheat (which is gluten-free), celery, beef stock, carrots, seasoning... I hope it tastes as good as it smells! *drool*

Join Date: Mar 2003 Location: Oz ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ahh, see since starting the business we have a very essential wall planner on the office wall, so if I write it on there, John will see it. Thank God for small mercies. Ahh, yes, the fights about money... just love those ones. We've been pretty good on that one. Not because we have much, but because we finally feel like we're going in the right direction for once. That's a nice feeling. Actually DH and I have been getting along really well lately too. Maybe there is something in the air for keeping males happy lol. I've been really flat out busy and I'm quite excited about it so I guess that's what's kept him happy. He's at his crankiest when he feels he's working more than me, so when he sees me still working at 10pm at night he's happy. Sad, but true. I'm glad I can managed to strive for balance in this household. If I followed his lead I'd just work 16 hours a day 7 days a week. Yeah, great life that'd be.
