My Mood: Points: 5,508.02 Bank: 0.02 Total Points: 5,508.04 | Hey Donna, just wanted to ask you, with the tupperware parties, did you earn any money from your first few, or did the profits just pay for your kit to start with? I'm almost convinced I should give it a go too.....
Whats everyone reading at the moment? Any suggestions? On thursday we just had stage 2 of our new shopping centre open up down the road (as in 20 minutes walk!!) and there is a library as well! Took the kids to have a look yesterday and we all joined up. All the books are brand new!! Its lovely! I found a book i was looking at in the bookshop a couple of weeks ago about "raising your spirited child" I was after some tips with Alyssa! So I borrowed that one, as i read it, I'm thinking she's not as bad as I've been making out!!! LOL! So thats a good thing!! I want to borrow a novel when I go back, but I don't get to read much usually, so I'm relying on recommendations! (please)
Today being Kid-free Tuesday, I'm using it to visit the drs and get that well-overdue papsmear. I want to use the appointment to get a full check up too. And some diet advice - I've put on 5 kg in the last 2 months... I was going to ask about the cervical cancer vaccine too, I don't if its something I'm too old for, or if its even realevant for a married woman?? Has anyone here had it??

As for tupperware, your first few parties do go towards paying off your kit. I've had five parties, sold just over $3000 worth and have made a couple of hundred dollars. It is such easy money, give it a go. I'll have to look into if I could join you under my name
DH went to work Sunday morning at around 6am and got home yesterday (Monday) at around 11.30 - long story, but it ends up he gets paid around $1600 for the shift - being Sunday double time etc.... so now he has today off. Not sure what we're doing yet.
Have a nice day everyone. Donna.x

Nic, there is a thread where people have shared what books they've enjoyed on the Aussie/Kiwi board - I think it is in the top section.

Well, I was sick in hospital for 12 days with OHSS, but apart from that, it was a pretty smoothy pregnancy. This time I am getting nausea...nothing serious yet though. I'm tired a lot too. It's still early though...so, we'll see what comes up...pun not intended...LOL

Back from the dr and the word on the vaccine is, there is another vaccine that is available for women over 26, its 3 needles, and you need to pay for them - apparently they are $150 each...($450!!) Still not 100% sure if its worth it for a woman in a stable monogomous realationship, but Dr said the viruses can actually be caught without sexual contact as well... She didn't eloborate though, so don't know where else you might pick them up from? public toilets? Don't know... She gave me a brochure about it, so will let you know if theres anything in it worth sharing once I have a proper look!

I have a large microbiology text at hm (for my uni microbiology class I took) & I could see what it has to say about that particular virus

I don't expect too much though, seen as though we are an 'aged care' pharmacy....that's if the pharmacy hasn't been closed down due to lack of staff! ...I can only hope.

I've only got a sec so I'll come back later for a longer update. Just wanted to post some book recommendations for you Nic.
The Memory Keeper's Daughter
My Sister's Keeper - Jodie Picoult
Nineteen Minutes - Jodi Picoult
The Time Traveller's Wife (I'm currently reading this one)
Eat Pray Love - Elizabeth Noble
Sophie Kinsella books are good for a light, chick lit read....the 'Shopaholic' series. I can't remember a few of the authors, but they are all good reads.
There's a new Marian Keyes one coming out really soon - can't wait for that.
Back soon. |

Unfortunately it didn't make me feel that Jenn wasn't that bad though - more a feeling of relief to find someone who could relate to what I've been through... Yay for having a new library near you. Gee I love library's. Love them. Love them. Love them.
Gee that vaccine is pretty pricey. Especially seeing as you still have to have your two yearly pap smears, which gets abnormal cells pretty early so they can be zapped off...
Heh Donn - glad to hear your tupperware parties are going well. How are those boys of yours?
Heh Amy! How are you doing? Are you single parenting this week, or is Don around?
Okay, well time for me to go - House is about to start. I haven't been getting into it as much this season, but I still have to watch....

My Mood: Points: 5,508.02 Bank: 0.02 Total Points: 5,508.04 | Hello all!
Thanks for the book suggestions Amy, I have printed them out to take along
with me next week!
I've decided to give the vaccine a miss. I did opt for the extra lab testing at my paptest, which was $30, and apparently picks up abnormal cells more clearly.. I'll just wait and see if the govt decide to offer the vaccine to old ladies like myself!!
I don't think i told you guys either that after my dr's appt the other day I went to the shops and was passing by Medibank private and they asked me if I'd like a free health check - I didn't have anything else to do, so did it. I was told I have good cholestrol, blood sugar and BP, only prob is I am in the obese BMI range. (too short for my weight)... So I decided to do something about it there and then, and went around to the Tony Ferguson clinic and joined up. I'm only on my 2nd day so far, and I have cheated a little, but I'm feeling good about it! I need to loose 17-20kg to be in the healthy BMI, so thats the goal!
Dylan and I have been down at our playcentre this morning, they held the "greatest shave" thing. One of the girls working there is a qualified hairdresser, so I was happy for her to shave Dylan's head - he needed a haircut!! (we normally just clipper it ourselves). Then he had it coloured blue and green - he thinks he looks pretty cool. Alyssa will probably be upset when we get her from kindy though, that she missed out... And our cafe manager had her head shaved too!! She normally has short hair anyway, but she got a number 1 today!!! Her husband, kids and grandkids were all there to support her - or laugh!! Her daughters comment was - "wasn't mardi-gras last weekend!" My boss had her hair put into 5 ponytails which they then teased up and coloured each a different colour - she then had to go and pick her son up from school!!!

Geez, it's crazy here at the moment!! Just a busy week. I don't have time to do personals, but just wanted to say I'm thinking of you and hoping for some time to catch up properly on the weekend between a couple of b'day parties and a disco!! LOL
I've been thinking of you all and hope you're all happy and well.
Deb, Don actually has been home for 3 days this week!!!! It's a miracle. It's great for my sanity to say the least. Talk soon. xx |

Jeanette, glad you have your pussy cat home safe and sound with you again, sorry it cost so much money though! Bloody pets! Wouldn't do without them though huh?
Amy, Glad you had a hubby for for a few days - how much difference does that make.
I've had a quiet weekend. No tupperware parties. I went out to lunch yesterday with the girls from work (took the boys with me). It was a happy birthday for one of the girls and a good bye for about four! It was nice to see everyone out of work without that horrible (work) look on their faces. DH worked overnight last night so we just had a quite day today.
I think Mexican theme for tonight. Burritos, Tacos, Enchaladas, lots of sour cream, guacamole, and above all...SANGRIA!
Cheers ladies!
Donna.
