For the last couple weeks I haven't wanted to eat anything at all. But I know I have to to take my meds.
What in the world can I eat??? Can't have most carbs, salt, fat. What is there left? Meat? I am tired of meat too. My favorite snack is a no no as it has a ton of sodium - jerky. Can't have sunflower seeds either. Carrots don't interest me, infact there is a whole bag in the fridge. I am just so frustrated that I don't feel like eating, not hungry. And it is doesn't taste good to me (most low carb stuff doesn't) then I won't eat it. I feel like I will be losing weight, but only because I am not eating. Like today, we have plenty of food, but all I have had is a piece of chicken (smoked) and a glass of cranberry juice. Help.......depressed about food.

How about a cheese & veggie omlette?
Or celery with tuna, cream cheese (low fat), or peanut butter?
Perhaps almonds, walnuts or brazilian nuts - they have "good" fat in them.
You might also want to dry making your own avacado dip (I use avacado, low fat cream cheese and a bit of lemon or lime juice). Then you can cut up some celery, pepper, mushrooms, and cucumbers along with some cherry tomatoes. Makes for a great healthy snack with dip and a "crunchy" taste too.

I do eat avacado. And we eat alot of eggs, getting tired of them, lol. But the problem with low carb and low fat foods is that they add a ton of sodium when they take the other stuff out. Cheese is very high in sodium, so I can't eat very much. That means nuts are out unless they are unsalted. This is the problem I have. I hate it. I hate that I let myself get this way.
My favorite hotdog has not carbs, amazing, however it has a ton of sodium in it. I do eat a ton of salad and raw veggies things, but I am bored of them. That is why the bag of carrots is still in the bottom of the fridge unopened. I just don't feel like eating anything because the stuff I want I can't have.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions.

I normally eat well, but when my boyfriend is at work (12 hour shifts) I tend to not feel like making anything either.
here's what I manage to create while he's gone:
- sliced bananas and strawberries in some 1% milk with some fake sugar sprinkled on top
- celery with peanut butter or light cheese spread
- whole wheat english muffin or tortilla with some sort of filling like tomato, cheese, meat, sprouts or even just a bit of margarine
I know how you feel. sometimes you just don't feel like making or eating anything, but when that happens you just have to realize that you do have to eat. skipping too many meals is counterproductive to a healthy WOE.
(hehe, do as I say, not as I do.)
good luck.

Could you try a different grocery store? I was so angry after the PCOS diagnosis--I used to be severely anorexic--and I was very angry that I had to be on a diet. So I tried shopping at Whole Foods, which has loads of fun veggie stuff, and it helped revitalize my feelings about cooking and eating. Maybe there's a Trader Joe's, or something where you could find some fun new stuff, that might help you feel more positive.

Bethann, that would be a great idea, however.... we only have a Fred Meyer, a Safeway, and an IGA. None of which are really exciting. I miss being in anchorage, I loved going to New Sagaya. It was kind of an asian market, but had so many different foods including the best fish selection I have seen since visiting Seatlle.
We did try some Halibut cheeks for dinner last night. For those who don't like fish they would be great for you. They don't taste like fish at all and have a texture much like chicken. They also taste like chicken, very firm. Not bad at all, unless you are me and tired of chicken, lol. Yes, they are the actually cheeks of the Halibut fish. Dh baked them like we do with Halibut filets, but we think that they would be best grilled like chicken with a little bbq sauce even, if you like bbq sauce.

The grocery store situation is tough. If you like cooking, maybe you could try getting a new cookbook or two, maybe for some type's of cusine you haven't learned to cook yet? These things helped me get out of my funk and get excited again.

Why no fat or salt? it's really only starch and sugar you are supposed to avoid.
What about making some spaghetti squash Alfredo to go with the chicken and dieced the chicken over it?
I assume you must get Hailibut cheaply? Here in Cleveland it is $11.00 lb! Low carb is not being kind to my budget....
