Default don't know what to do???

I was diagnosed about 3 months ago. I finally got bloodwork done after being on met for 2 months. Everything in my bloodwork came back normal except my fsh/lh was 1:4. I am trying to lose about 10-15 lbs. I am working out 6 days a week and eating about 1100 calories a day. Right now I am taking 500 mg of met at dinner and then 850 mg before bed. I haven't lost a pound since starting the met 2 months ago. I am also on Yaz. Is there any reason for me to be on the met if i am not ttc and my labs are normal? I went to see my ob and have seen two different docs in the practice. The first was very quick to prescribe met and yaz with no bloodwork. I went back to demand bloodwork and saw another ob and she seemed confused why I was put on the met in the first place. I told her I was having a hard time losing weight and then she immediately upped by dosage of met to 850 twice a day. I was feeling very sick on the increased dosage so i decreased to 500 and 850 once a day.
As you can tell I am very confused of why I am even on the met if all my labs were normal and i am not ttc. But maybe my labs were normal b/c i was on the met for 2 months before bloodwork, any ideas? So if I am not ttc, my labs were normal, I am not very overweight, and I am on yaz...why am i on met? Thanks for any suggestions or insight. I don't know what to do.

Everyone is different. I was on met for three mos it made me feel like hell and I didn't lose much IF any weight. Actually I think I lost weight because my stomach always felt full of stones...yuck.

Met did nothing great for me but some women swear by it because it helps them lose weight thus helping to stop and or slow their pcos symptoms. That doesn't mean that it is just for women that are ttc. You should betaking the BEST medicine out there for you regardless if you want children right now or not.

Some women also had to up their dosage pretty high before met helped them. There is also met xr which works differently than met.

It's been two months and you haven't upped to what the dr said yet...maybe once you get that high it'll work...maybe it will make matters worse...either way you might have to wait it out.

I take chromium piconilate instead...it works better for me...but that's me.

ALSO you can have normal labs and STILL have pcos.

I hope things get better for you.
