Question Don't want kids

Can anyone help me? I'm planning on getting married next year, and the weeding night will be my first time.

My main worry though is contraception. Both my fiance and myself do not want children, as we both have hereditery conditions. Can anyone recommend birth controll except the coil, which is compatible with PCOS. My gyno is not a friend of bcps for PCOS women.

Advice would be much appreciated!

To be honest, if you can't have BCP's (and there are some which seem to help women with PCOS), and I would assume that means you couldn't have any other sort of hormonal contraception (such as provera - the injection) AND you DEFINITELY do not want children, then what about considering a vasectomy for DH or sterilisation for you? That would be a permanent and definite solution, if a bit drastic.

Of course such as permanet solution is not to be undertaken lightly, but then I don't for one minute think that your decision not to have any children has been taken lightly and, IMHO, is one of the most unselfish acts I have heard of considering your situation with the hereditary conditions.

Good luck and I hope you find a solution which will work for you - not to matter have a fantastic wedding and a long and happy marriage.

Hi Celtic Girl!

I would go to a planned parenthood in your area before your big night. Explain to them that you are do not want children but that you don't wish to take BCPs. Also, condoms are a great contraceptive as well. However, planned parenthood will go through all of your options with you and explain everything in detail - the risks, the benefits, etc. etc.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and all the best to you and your hubby for a happy and healthy life together!

God Bless!

Kelley
