Default Dong Quai and weight gain

Hi Everyone,
Someone told me the other day that dong quai makes you gain weight...does anyone know if there is any truth in this? I thought that it did the opposite. The only thing that I have noticed when I took it was that my breasts grew. Has anyone else noticed that? Thanks

I have used dong quai for many years off and on and have never experienced weight gain while using it. It is the most bitter of the herbs I take and often bitter roots are helpful in cleansing and weight loss. I have not read any links to it causing weight gain or loss so I am just guessing about the loss.

I was only on it for a month, but I didn't notice any weight gain.

Default I was wondering this myself...

Hi Girls

I'm a thin cyster and I've been taking Dong Quai for three weeks. (I'm also on Vitex, Evening Primrose Oil and Saw Palmetto) Just yesterday I decided to weigh myself and I've gained 5 pounds! I've recently cut my carb and sugar intake, so I can only assume its the herbs that have caused the weight gain.
I've never heard of this happening to anyone else, so when I saw your question I was intrigued. I'm going to continue taking everything and see what happens. I'd like to know which herb is the most likely to be causing the weight gain, so I can cut out the right one if this continues. Any suggestions?
