I have been so frustrated lately...I have been eating close to perfect 1800 calories a day, exercising three times a week but im not losing weight.... this is causing me to be highly depressed. I feel like im sitting in a box with the lid on and I cannot get out... in addition, the beard I grow every night while i sleep is causing me so much anxiety! I dont wanna die, i wanna be happy, i want to be healthy. But i don’t want to live like this. what do you do to make yourself feel better about sucky situations? the only coping skills i have are to eat fast food...obviously that isnt working out! thanks in advance!
What sort of exercise are you doing and is there anything stopping you from working out 5-6 times a week?
Whoops, posted that before I finished.
I am a much happier and less anxious person when I do some form of exercise everyday. Even if it is just a 15minute walk around the block it seems to lift my mood. And if you are exercising more regulary (and with intensity) you will likely see the weight come off too! BONUS! lol

hey,
thanks for the support! no there is nothing stopping me from working out 5-6 days a week except the fact that i still am not losing only gaining even though im doing most things right!!! it is frusterating and makes me wanna give up! i like the idea of a 15 min walk because that is sooo doable and not scary sounding like an hour or more!
I think if you start out small, like 15 minutes every day as mentioned, you'll quickly begin to feel better. Not just about your weight but about all aspects of your life. Plus, you'll want to start doing more & more excersize b/c your feeling better & more energized. Have you discussed your desire to lose & be healthy w/ your doc?

you might not be losing yet, but any changes in your lifestyle in that direction - calorie control and healthier eating in particular - are undoubtedly positive.
I know exactly how you feel. I went 3 weeks, going running 5 days a week and eating a low-carb diet, which made me feel like a rabbit a lot of the time, just to lose nothing... so out came the biscuits and chocolate! I understand how frustrating it is, to be trying so hard and achieving nothing. The worst part for me, was that I was doing it with a friend who doesn't have PCOS, and she lost nearly half a stone. gutted. It's hard, but you've just got to keep motivated. The biggest motivation should be that by doing exercise and looking after yourself, despite not making you thinner straight away, will be helping you in the long term defend yourself against diabetes etc. I hope you have better luck x
I find that my weight comes off in stages rather than continiously! I can loose a couplle of pounds and then nothing for a few weeks, then suddenly a few more pounds. Weight doesnt always come off at a regular pace with pcos, so im told by my gyne! Hope this helps. Also which meds are u on, cause metformin might help.

The same thing happened to me. I ended up going to get my metabolism tested and found out that my metabolism is so fast that I wasn't eating ENOUGH food. That may or may not be the case with you, but I know getting the ACTUAL number of calories my body needs helped my weight loss tremendously.
Hope you find a solution soon. It can be so disheartening to do everything you think is right and not getting any results. Our bodies are SO complicated! ((HUGS))
