Does dosage of Met go by your weight? I'm currently taking 1500mg and I would really like to up it to 2000mg.I have recently lost some weight and was wondering if I should up it.My dr orginally wanted me up to 2000mg but I couldn't get passed 1000mg because of the bad s/e.I think I can get up to 2000 now.Oh! and does upping your Met dosage help with the nasty man hair sxs? God I hate that one!

I don't believe the dosage has anything to do with your weight. I was at a healthy weight when my RE prescribed 2000mg for me. Always check with your doctor, though.
My Endo told me that usually diabetic patients are upped to 2000mg. I have not been diagnosed with diabetes but he upped my dosage to 1500mg from 1000mg to help with weight loss. One of my friends with PCOS said once she lost her weight the facial hair stopped.
My doctor says weight does not play a role in the dosage.

Yep, I agree--weight doesn't play a role. I was 107 when I was at 1500mg and then 111 when I went to 2000mg (and I'm not IR or diabetic).
