Hair thinning and hair loss is REALLY very common with PCOS. You are definitely not alone.

Now, the kind of hairloss that you get when you lose hair elsewhere on the body in addition to on the head, like eyebrows and eyelashes, is a kind of hair loss that is unrelated to PCOS. It's called Alopecia Areata or Alopecia Totalis.

Tell me, on your head, are you losing your hair in a diffuse, overall way, or are you using really obvious, definite patches? PCOS loss is usually more diffuse, and focussed up on the top and front hairline. Definite patches of hair that go totally bald are the other kind, called alopecia areata.

If your hair loss in your eyelashes continues, please do definitely see a dermatologist about it, and find out what kind of hairloss you are dealing with.

Unhappy

I too have a serious hair loss problem. Im so afraid that im going to wake up one morning totally bald. Ive been losing hair for nearly a year now & its only getting worse. I only brush my hair once a day because it falls out so badly & I cant afford to lose anymore. Ive always had very thick hair and people are starting to tell me that I dont need to get my hair thinned out anymore. I dont want to go into the long story & tell them that my hair is falling out. I feel so bad about it. Its got me very depressed lately. I dont know what to do. I lose about 4 handfuls a day. :-(
