Default Dose related hell!

Dear All,

About eight weeks ago I put my met up to 1500mgs from 1000mgs. This was because the initial good effect I had was no longer working. Was having wonderful weight loss and 28-30 day cycles. This was coupled with no PMT and minimal carb cravings. Since I put it up I feel all out of sync again and it is so very frustrating to feel rotten again! I am carb craving - my cycle is still better than it was but not predictable, my mood has dipped and my PMT this month was awful! Has anyone else raised there dose and felt that they are back to square one again>? It took me a good six months to stabilise last time, am I to expect similar this time? On the positive tho, I gave up smoking on the 10th march after 13 years (might this have an effect i wonder)???

Thank you all in anticipation as always
Tracy

Congratulations on the smoking! The jump from 1000 to 1500 was by far the most difficult for me. I made the adjustment after a week, but it took about a month for me to acclimate, compared to about a week on the other dosages. It will get better. The other option might be to cut a pill in half if you're taking separate doses and once you get used to 1250, then go up to 1500.

Tracy, how is your diet? I was on 1500 right of the bat, and I was ill for over a year until I started eating to control my insulin with the IR diet. We can actually counter-act the medication with a poor diet and the insulin surges are what tend to cause the intestinal issues.

I would definetly focus on that aspect and give yourself the best shot at the meds helping.

All the best!

Sorry to ressurect this old post, but I just wanted to share this with you guys. i took Christy's advice re: diet (THANK YOU CHRISTY) and started the GI diet...... WOW! I am so much more level. No mid afternoon tiredness, minimal mood swings and I am starting to lose weight. My cycles are still a little off but much better that without the met! I am converted..... GI every time for me now!
