Default Doxycycline or Tetracycline?

Hello!
Does anyone use either of these meds (or both) to help w/ acne?
If u/r using, do you use them along w/ creams like Differin? I just want to know how it's (they're) working for you!

I take tetracycline and it is working great. I took minocycline when i was younger and it was ok. My doc switched me to ward off resistance and lo and behold, the tetracycline does a better job for me. Also. I have checked with my dr. on getting resistant and found out that not everyone does. I don't seem to be developing any resistance to the drug.

Hi, I was on tetracyclin and minocycline a couple of years ago and they worked ok, but I developed a resistance pretty quick. I also would get bruises that wouldn't go away while on the tetra.
My dermatologist took me off and put me on Sulphamex (something like that) and it worked great for me.
I also used differin gel (which I LOVE) and used a cleanser called Plexion which has been wonderful as well!

Good luck!

Hi,
I used Tetra.. for a year. It worked great for me! However, I was not always so careful and I experienced some nasty side effects. Last Thanksgiving I ate too soon after taking it and spent the next 30 min in the restroom vomiting. Another time I spent 30 min in the sun without sunscreen...HORRIBLE sunburn. Definately follow the warnings!

Good luck

Nov.
