Has anyone had experience with Dr. Jorge Pineda at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis? He was recommended to me by two coworkers, and I was just wondering if any of you had seen him, what your experiences were (positive or negative) before I make an appointment with him.
I'm having a very hard time finding someone who will treat my suspected hypothyroidism (I've had two doctors tell me that thyroid has nothing to do with infertility, which all the research I've done is to the contrary) and no one will treat my TSH level because they say it isn't high enough to warrant treatment. I believe this is what's been keeping us from getting pregnant, and I want to find out if anyone has had success with Dr. Pineda.
Thanks in advance!

I just joined...but wanted to tell you I used Dr. Pineda, and can't say enough wonderful things about him. I was diagnosed in 1999/2000 with him. He was agressive (in a positive manner), found out what was going on, and I did IVF in August 2000, and now have a beautiful 6 1/2 year old daughter.
If it wasn't for him, I know I wouldn't have a daughter today.
I also went to Dr. Pineda in 2002 for infertility. I had been on clomid for several cycles and was going on a year of nothing happening. He ran some tests and found out my hormone levels were all low.
Amazingly enough, I had a bad fall just after ovulation one month and lo and behold, I got pregnant. I saw Dr. Pineda for several things during most of my pregnancy. I had to take progesterone because I dont make enough to support a pregnancy and I had weekly blood tests to make sure all was ok. He was very helpful in every aspect. He did sonograms weekly as well to check to make sure everyone was ok in there. Though I lost two of my three angels due to my body problems....I came out with one beautiful daughter and cant thank him enough. He does listen and cares about your symptoms. Good luck.
I went to Dr. Valerie Ratts from Wash U. I really liked her. We were fortunate that clomid and met worked for us, so I have not experiece with IVF. Good luck.
