I've just moved to South Yarra in Melbourne and would LOVE any suggestions from my cysters about who I can see as PCOS sympathetic GP and other specialists.

I'm a thin cyster, annovulatory most of the time but have been having normal cycles every 28 days since Dec 2001. However - my last normal cycle was Oct 2002 until today - when I'm sure I got the last three months all at once . I'm not happy Jan. Not at all. I've never felt the pain that I'm feeling today. Have had cramps and things like that before - but never like today. Not even after a long stint without a cycle.

I'd love to get to see someone fairly soon as I've got a few other things that need attending to so if anyone has any information.... please feel free to post it here or to email me on ... shellsta@hotmail.com

Hi Shell and baps,

I see Dr Anthony Lawrence in Glen Waverley who is a OB/GYN and is also part of the Monash IVF team in Clayton.

I have been seeing him since September 2001 and he is a great doctor. He has seen heaps of ladies with PCOS and knows his stuff. He's not your normal OB/GYN who has minimal knowledge of PCOS. trust me, I've been to a couple of OB/GYN who have NO idea.

He placed me on Clomid and Metformin and I'm now 22 weeks pregnant.

When I first saw him I told him I wanted to go the Natural route first with Chinese Herbal medicine and Acupuncture and he was very accomodating to it.

I know he may be a bit far for you in South Yarra but I think he also works out of Surrey Hills or Malvern.

If you want to get his details just PM me and I'll send them to you. You'll need to get a referral though.

Good Luck and I hope I helped somewhat. I also have a large listing at home with OB/GYN's that are connected to Monash IVF also. I can look up and see if there are any closer to you.

Thank you so much for the information! I will definitely give him a ring and find out where he practices and if it's worth it for me to see him in Glen Waverley. Who knows - he might even know someone out this way!
