hi! i was up in rhode island not too long ago for my job. i had to see a gyn for some acute issues (not pcos related- i needed an examination because i was date raped.) i picked one somewhat randomly from the phone book... i saw elizabeth volucci, the nurse practitioner in the office. she was great! very through and compassionate. not only did she take the extra time to provide emotional support to me for the rape, we had a very long and thorough discussion about my pcos and its current treatment/future options. she referred me to an endocrinologist, which is something my own gyn back home in louisiana failed to do! if i were that area again, i would definitely go back to her. she really made a good impression on me.
i did not get to see the endocrinologist there because i had to relocate to a different to another state, but the endo's name was dr. campbell. i had to make the appointment like a month in advance, so if i were you, i would call and both appointments at the same time (for the gyn and endo), just so you can get it all checked out asap. (if you're anything like me; i positively cannot bear the anxiety of waiting!) i no longer have the contact information for dr. campbell, but you should be able to find her in the phone book or on 411.com.
