Could anyone recommend a dr. in the Nashville TN area? My 13 year old daughter was diagnosed this spring. I would appreciate a response. Thank you in advance.
Although he is just an OBGYN, I go to Dr. Brent Boles at Covenant Healthcare for Women in Murfreesboro. He is affiliated with Middle Tennessee Medical Center. I have been seeing him since he diagnosed me at age 15. He was in Kentucky at the time, but now I drive over 2 hours to see him. There are a several good endos in Nashville, but I never saw any of them. I did see Dr. Esther Eisenberg at Vanderbilt and that was just a waste of time for me. She didn't take any of my complaints seriously, and she is supposedly a PCOS expert.

I'm in Nashville too, but can't be of too much help. I've only been to my endocrinologist once - Dr. Bao at the Diabetes Clinic at Vanderbilt. She's brilliant and knows a lot about PCOS but she's one of those people who are so intelligent she's almost unfriendly. I don't think she means to be, but it seems like she's always thinking scientifically, always trying to get out all the information she has, and doesn't take time to listen and be sympathetic.
I'm at the point now where I'm looking for a good RE so if anyone in the Nashville area reads this and has a suggestion, please let me know! I'm especially looking for a good RE who doesn't mind working with larger women!

Dr. Carol McCullough, a gyn at Summit Medical Center is very up to date on PCOS. She treated me for several years with Met, Spiro and Yaz, until I asked to see an endo due to some other health issues. My endo is Chilango Mulaisho also at Summit. He really believes in treating it agressively. He wants me on 2500mg of Met, but I've only been able to tolerate 2000mg. He does not have a great bedside manner, nor do his nurses, but he is the only endo at Summit who treats PCOS. My cousin-in-law's endo is Dr. Stephen Sharp over near Baptist Hospital, and she really likes him. The last I heard he was not taking new patients.
I saw Dr. Bao at Vanderbilt for my diabetes, but for my PCOS, I saw Dr. Abbey Eblen at Nashville Fertility Clinic (and Dr. Hill there is really nice too). She was able to help me with getting properly diagnosed and all the tests done.
