Default Dr. in New Mexico?

Hi, I just recently moved to NM from upstate NY. I am looking for a PCOS friendly dr. I live in Truth or Consequences, but know there are none here. Anyone know of any in Las Cruses? Thanks in advance.

HI there I just moved from Kansas in March of this year to New Mexico as well, and I have thyroid disease and I too was having a very hard time finding a dr, I know my dd has a thyroid dr in Albuquerque NM other than that i don't know of any, I also heard there are some in Lubbock TX. and the drs I have encountered act as if they have never heard of PCOS. GL and welcome to NM

Thank you for the welcome. I didn't think it would be easy to find one here. I know there is a decent women's hospital in Albuquerque, but I didn't want to have to travel that far if I didn't have to, but the options aren't looking so good. What a culture shock this has been for me, for the nearest Wal-Mart I have to travel 75 miles! I am planning on ttc when DH gets out of the academy in Dec. If it happens in the meantime, yay! But I only get to see him 2 times a month, so the chances are slim. I just wanted a doctor lined up. I guess they have no mandatory infertility insurance coverage here? I hope I don't need the help I have in the past. Sorry for the ramble, just really bored here so far, it will be a month tomorrow. Thanks for the reply!

we too will be TTC again in December god willing if I can lose the 40lbs I need to lose, I have thyroid disease so that makes it harder for me plus the PCOS and I have severe IR, We live in Carlsbad, we have a Wal-mart Thank Goodness, where we lived in Kansas (we lived there for 10 yrs, but I was born and raised in the town where we did live for my whole life) any way I hear you about the culture shocker, not to mention New Mexico is like its own continent you know, I was really weirded out when I saw liquor in the local grocery stores and wal-mart, I am seeing ARNP due to my thyroid she is in Loving, she seems very knowledgeable about PCOS, the first dr I saw said I needed anti-depressants, I don't think so duh he needs to do some research on thryoid disease. as far as insurance I have no idea we have none, so I found a clinic that goes on a sliding fee scale which is a god send to us, we have 5 beautiful children and want one more. Your girls are very beautiful.
Well feel free to PM me or email if you want to talk. Take Care
