wow thats great, I wish my doctor was more understanding. Good luck with the appointment and TTC and feel free to PM me if you wanna talk things over, share any tips
Maybe I'll be lucky and get this guy - I've just got an appointment though at Salford Royal for a week on Tuesday, and I'm hoping the hardest thing will be finding a parking space at rush hour! I know my GP put PCOs on the referral, so that might help there.
I've been off the BCP (diannette) on my GP's advice for just over a month now, and I've got the skin of a teenager again - all greasy and starting to get spotty... Just knowing that there are helpful doctors in my area has made me feel a little bit better.
I'm there on the 11th too 9.05 am. Like most, I suspect I'm going to hate the proding ang poking bits (I even hate having my blood pressure taken!). I was surprised at how quickly I got an appointment, but when I looked at the options I got through 'Choose and Book' this was the quickest one which had a 4 week wait. It was 12 weeks for North Manchester, or 8 weeks for Fairfield in Bury, and I had no clue where the other two places I was offered were!

All I know is my Boss is just going to love me - I'm out of the office on a course this week, getting the train to Leeds each day. Monday I'll be late in because I've got a 9am dentist appointment, and Tuesday this one
So I saw the nice Dr Polson this morning. He advised me to go back on the BCP, but not diannette, and gave me a note for my GP to prescribe me Yasmin. He completely advised against metformin.
As I said to him, my main issue is that I just don't know when AF is going to arrive - I actuially said that I'm going on holiday at the end of the month and I didn't want an unwanted visitor to join me! He said that as I'm a non smoker, there should be no problem with the BCP.
So I dropped the note off at my GP, and I'll have a prescription to pick up in a couple of days and I get control of my body back because I'll know what is happening when.
well apparantly i don't have PCOS!!! ( not sure i believe him tho, with weight all on my tummy & hairy chin!) i have one bigish cyst on my right ovary, he is taking the wait and see approach with it, so going back in early dec for a repeat ultrasound.
as for my TTC , in the mean time hubby has to have semen analysis done, he thinks i am ovulating as i have regular cycles but short and it will be harder to pin point, so between now and going back, i'm having my progesterone checked on various cd to find out when. Now for the terrible bit, the night be for my next appt we have to bd and then he is going to look at the aftermath!!! ewwwwwww sorry if that tmi.
As regarding my weight, no metformin for me either, i'm not IR so not a chance he is letting me have a go of reductil to help, he would also like me to lose a stone and a half so my bmi is under 30 , as apparently clomid has a much higher sucess rate then.
i found him very easy to talk to and he wasn't patronising, and what he said did make alot of sense, lets just hope he can fix me.
