Default Dr thinks I have OCD and ADD?!?!?

In addition to all my other problems they think I have OCD and ADD??? I know I am worrier and I do obess over everything. In fact last night I was with a bunch of people and all I coulf think of is what are they thinking of me. I know, 'who cares'! But I can't help it. I am trying to do some research. The Dr recommend a book by the name of 'Your Perfect Right' ... has anyone read it?

OCD is something I think I have had for ages, but never like most things sought help for it....

It's got really bad this past couple of months, and I am finding myself getting obsessed with things, and repeating things all the time.

I've always been a little crazy with cleaning, but now it's gotten to things like making sure the curtains hang a certain way.....

and I am crazy, I also seem to have this weird thing about my computer, I have to delete things I don't need, and run virus scans like everytime I log on, and make sure I delete all my passwords and stuff, both at home and work, it's kind getting a little mad....

I am on Paxil 60, dr just uped the dose yesterday and dx me with OCD Personality, Post Traumic Stress, Severe Depression, etc. Dr took me off the Wellbutrin and put me on Gabapentin (Neurontin) for my anxiety / panic attacks / fight or flight, etc. Next month he is going to add Topiramate for the nightmares and flashbacks. In the mean time I start counseling next week. Using the meds to help me get through the counseling and then go from there. The therapy includes learning to face your fears, so we will see how it goes.

I have been reading my 'Quit Obsessing' book. I wish it was not so hard to concentrate. I started a list of postive thoughts, to change my thinking. To stop feeding my 'Worry' Monster, and feed my 'Positive' side.

Went to my first day of counseling, it's amazing how I feel a bit relieved and tired at the same time.

Of course you feel tired-- you're coming down from a long-term fight-or-flight response! That's a really great first sign when coupled with the relief!
