Default Dr. took me off Metformin

Hi, I'm a new/old member, changed email providers, etc...

Anyway, I saw a RE about two years ago for PCOS and was put on Metformin. I moved, and was seeing an NP in a Thyroid practice for my thyroid and pcos. She took a leave of absence and the Dr of the practice just started seeing me. I lost about 20 lbs on Metformin, and he decided, since I'm now around 120-123, to take me off Metformin. I was skeptical, but he said since I'm on bcp, that it should be fine, and only if I want to get preggers should I go back on the Met.

It's been about two months since I've been off, and I feel like I am gaining weight around my middle, despite the fact that I work out 3 - 5 days a week and I've been watching my diet. I haven't been eating excessively and I had my metabolic rate checked the day I went off Metformin and it was higher than normal, as is my lean body mass.

I feel like finding another dr because I don't know if this is the most recent way of handling people on Met....has anyone else had this experience with dr's taking you off met, and feeling weird after you've been off it?
