Question DR wants info can you help me?

ok so my doctor says that he doesnt want to give me metformin to treat my pcod because it is a diabetic drug and i have no insulin resistance that he can see on my blood results.

HOWEVER, i called him and he said that if i can get any information on treating PCOD with metformin/glucophage in women who are NOT INSULIN RESISTANT, i must bring it in with me to my next appointment and he will consider it (obviously depending on how reliable the sources are)

could you help me with links and stuff?

thank you

I don't have any links to help but I can tell you that I've heard a lot more cysters say their Drs have new research that Met doesn't help as well in non-IR women. I was obviously IR so that's why I'm on Met.

I hope someone else can get you more info (maybe try to Google what you're looking for?).

I don't know if this helps since its not a link but on my metformin prescription info sheet it says under other uses that it can be used to treat women with menstrual disorders (such as pcos) to help regulate periods, increase ovulation and fertility especially in women at high risk of becoming IR.
