Default Dried Peas?

I see that some people are eating dried peas? Are these like the kind in the soup aisle? Are they yummy or at least tolerable? I am looking for something kind of cruncy(sp) that is good for a diet snack?

Thanks
Beth

I got wasabi peas at my local co-op. They are kind of like "poppeas" if that makes sense...you know how corn pops? These are popped but not as fluffy as popcorn, then they're flavored with wasabi. Maybe check your local co-op or natural food store.

They are a nice crunchy alternative to crackers or chips. I think the ones in the soup aisle would be too hard and not so tasty.

LOL I laugh b/c the last time I went into the grocery store out of my area, and asked the clerk if he had dried peas, he said, "oh ya sure", and directed me to the lentils, the bagged peas, hard as a rock ones. lol, I said, "nooo, thanks anyway".
They are just that, dried peas, like say, you cooked frozen or canned peas, and freeze dried them, they are very tasty and very crunchy, beats potato chips, and the protein to carb ratio is exactly 7.15 (I'm on the IR Diet), the brand I buy anyway. Imo, I found my vice while trying to lose weight that's not going to blow me over.
I think they're tasty, but different strokes for different folks...

I've had these and I think they are delicious. I don't know how diet-friendly they are though. I got them at a bulk food store called Bulk Barn here in Ottawa.
