I've recently gotten very serious about being healthy and losing weight. SO far, I've lost 25 lbs - 15 of which have been in the last 6 weeks or so.
I've gone down one dress size, but now it seems that I've gone down one SHOE size! I used to wear 11W (impossible, I know) and now they're all too big! I've been buying 10W.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? If so, how many shoe sizes have you lost?
I'm so curious!

When I went from a 28 to a 24, I came down from a 12W sometimes 13 to an 11W. Makes you feel so good!

I went from 210 to 145, and went from an 8 1/2-9 to a 7 1/2-8. It was the one area of shrinkage I wasn't expecting.
On the plus side: I got to buy all new shoes. :-)

The moment my life changed:
The doctor examined my lab results, quietly flipping through page after page. He sighed, closed the file, placed it on the table and then looked up at me over his glasses and said, "You just dodged a bullet."

I have always had problems with flucuations in weight, I noticed that my shoe sizes would also go up and down according to my weight at the time, It makes sense, the less pressure you put on your feet (i.e. losing weight) the less they spread therefore taking up less room, needing less shoe. I can't wait to have an excuse to buy more shoes.

It makes complete sense to me as well. Actually, I won't be surprised a bit if I go down as I continue to lose, because when I gained my weight (age 20 or so) I went UP a shoe size. I was surprised, but chalked it up to my weight gain. I am hoping it will work in reverse as the pounds come off.

uh-huh, What Stacie said....I went up a shoe size as my weight increased so I really hope that I find I go back down a shoe size when the weight is gone.
congratulations on your weight loss!

I haven't really noticed a difference in my shoes. I still wear the same size shoe I did before I lost weight. However, I have noticed my watch, ring, and bracelet are all too big now. Not something I was really expecting.

Bekki-- first off, congrats on your weightloss! WTG!
As far as shoe sizes go, in the past when I 've lost weight I haven't changed sizes. But I have wide feet and one thing I did notice was that I could fit into narrower shoes. When pointy heels first became popular I couldn't stuff my feet into them no matter how hard I tried. But when I dropped down to 120 I could finally fit into them. Unfortunately I gained all that weight back and I haven't noticed a big change foot wise yet this time around losing weight.

Wow, first of all - thanks for all the support! I feel very proud of my weight loss, and it's really exciting to be acknowledged for it.
I talked to my sister about this foot thing, and she told me that they recently learned in one of her science classes that our bones will grow and shrink depending on our weight.
Makes sense, because I lost 7 inches off my shoulders!
I'm very excited about this smaller shoe size. Big feet run in my family, and the extra weight came on around age 11, so I don't know what it's like to wear cute little shoes - I went from kids sizes to gigantic sizes.
I'm definitely looking forward to more shoe shopping.
