i am 23 years old and have not yet been diagnosed with PCOS, although I am pretty sure it is what I have..

I was watching mystery diagnosis on discovery health one night and the diagnosis fit me to a T. I immediately made an appointment with my gyno. I had already been diagnosed ovarian cysts. I had gained 80lbs in 4 years, no or very rare periods, excessive hair on my shin and face, my stomach, breasts and the hair on my arms is full.. I have the dark spots on my skin - my neck, joints and armpits..
My bf and I have been together 6 1/2 years and started ttc in Nov 2005. We have not done any meds, but have tried consistently on our own. He is now 26 and I am 23.

When I went to my Dr (in 2007) he told me that it sounds like I have some of the symptoms but my options were birth control to level the hormones or clomid to ttc.

I have researched more and found this site as well as many others with
metformin... I see that many have side effects with it...

does it help with weight loss? the excessive hair?

I have an appointment with a new Dr on Wed: Any specific questions I should ask???
