Default dry dry hair

Anyone's hair extremely dry? When I dry it, it just gets worse and then frizzes out no matter what products I use. I keep saying I have wild woman hair! It is naturally wavy and I love it straight, but it is getting worse and worse

Anyone have anything that helps?

Brittany

As 70's as it sounds, V05 hot oil treatments are wonderful. And I use products from Thermasilk. They work with heat to help keep hair looking healthy. I have a frizz reducer by them that's wonderful. But any frizz reducer with silicone in it will work well to smooth the hair. I use it along with my flat iron to get nice, straight hair (not that it's curly to begin with, but it does have a mind of its own).

While my hair appears stick straight in pictures, its actually quite "textured". That's my polite way of saying "naturally frizzy" I have finally tamed my beastly hair, however!

Ajani sure isn't lying... hot oil treatments are great. I don't even bother to purchase them anymore though. I just use plain olive oil, add a bit of honey (adds shine, and NO it doesn't make your hair sticky like you'd think!), and some essential oil if I'm feeling exotic. Warm it up just a tad, slather it all over most of my hair (sparing my scalp, as it gets oily), slap a shower cap on, and let it sit for as long as I can stand it. I then shampoo and condition as normal. I try to do these at least once a week.

My real secret? I don't care what shade your skin might be, but if your hair is dry, curly, or textured the best hair products in my experience are found in the so-called "ethnic" section. Sally Beauty stores are a treasure trove for great cholesterol type conditioners, thick leave-ins, and various oils made for people of African descent. These products not only saved my hair and made it finally hang nice and straight without being overly loaded with product, but conditioning it so deeply has allowed it to grow to mid-thigh length! I would have never dreamt that possible in the past! My personal favorite brand is "Strength of Nature", as they make some amazing products. "ElastaQP" brand Recovery oil moisturizer is a sort of thick, creamy leave-in conditioner that really makes my hair shine and takes out all signs of frizz at the bargain price of $2.89 an 8oz. bottle! All of these products are very concentrated, so truly "a little dab will do ya".

Another cause for frizzy hair, especially if you use heat on it or chemically process it in any way is loss of protein. A good protein conditioner, or "reconstructor", can fix that problem right up. One of the cheapest and easiest to find is Infusium. Be careful though, as too much protein can cause frizzy hair as well. As with everything in life, moderation is key.

As you can see, I could talk hair all day! I hope you find something that helps!

Try Fredrick Fekkai's line of Olive Oil products. Specifically the Glossing Cream. Oh my goodness- I am so in love with this product that I may write Mr. Fekkai a love letter. Kinda pricey, but sooooooooo worth it.

I have curly hair and it is very dry, but I have recently started using the honey shampoo & conditioner from Body Shop, and also their Brazil nut De-fine & de-frizz. They have been working well for me.

I have naturally curly/frizzy hair. Before it started to fall out, I would get it relaxed professionally twice a year. They would just soften the curl for me to make it easier to style. After relaxing my hair, they do a Bee-Pollen conditioner which makes my hair soooo soft. They slap the stuff in your hair and put a cap on you and put you under the dryer for 20 minutes! it really does make all the difference. It cost me around $45.00

I wonder if you do that with regular conditioner, you can achieve the same results! Could be worth the try....

Also, I've used mayonaise and a plastic bag wrapped around my head for 30 minutes...also works really well for me.

Yup same here have naturally curly frizzy hair, the only thing i found that does work is fructis serum, apply it after you have washed your hair and it keeps the amount of frizz down and it is great to straighten with when you hair is dry aswell
