Default DTD after D&C?

How long did you all wait to resume DTD after a D&C? And did you use protection until your next period came?

I waited about 2 weeks ( so this week was 2 weeks after my D & C). I think I was suppose to wait 3 weeks but umm because of pregnancy complications I wasn't able to BD since July, so enough was enough was enough for me. I used protection and I will probably till Dec since I'm not suppose to TTC again until after 3 cycles.

I am sorry for your loss.

I was told not to DTD for 6 weeks. We DTD about 3 weeks after and used protection. The big thing is to prevent infection so you really need to use protection.

Have a wonderful vacation and good luck TTC when you get back.

My post op instructions said no sex for 1 week, so that's how long we waited. We hadn't DTD in like 2 weeks so we were both looking forward to it. I was never told to use protection, I even told my doctor that we weren't using it and she didn't have a problem with that. And with how infrequently I ovulate on my own, the odds of anything happening before we officially start TTC again are pretty darn low.

I hope you figure out when you 'should' start to dtd again (ask your Dr!!)..............me, personally, have NO desire whatsoever.....but I didn't have a D&C, either.

So sorry for your loss! I waited 12 days after my D&E, when the bleeding had eased up enough to DTD without too much mess. We used protection as the doc reco'd a TTC break until I had one natural AF after the D&E to let my lining build back up to normal levels to support a pg. HTH
