Anyone else have this, or something similar? Now that I've been diagnosed with PCOS, I'm concerned enough to make an appt with the GYN who hopefully will do an ultrasound next week.
Just wondering about the noncancerous possibilities (I imagine I'm at low risk for ovarian cancer at age 27, and in otherwise good health). Are the possibilities enlarged ovary, cysts, maybe something is swollen/ruptured? Would this indicate that the ovary may not be functional any longer? And what are the treatment options?
They are cysts most likely. It is a symptom of PCOS. When my ultrasound came back I had about 20 on my right ovary and 15 on my left. But they do cause the ache. I'm under the impression that with medication they shrink and/or go away. They can also be removed surgically if needed.
i was have had the same thing, i think it is a cyst. luckily when i was feeling it was the same day i was getting an u/s. They told me not to worry too much about it, only if the pain becomes intense, that is when i should worry (that automaticly worried me!)

I was actually diagnosed with a dermoid cyst on my left ovary before my actual PCOS diagnosis. However, I never had any pain. I've researched it thoroughly and have found only one reference to dermoid cyst and PCOS.
I went through day surgery to have it removed and it was a piece of cake.
Now, just addressing the PCOS and recently started taking metformin in hopes of a positive hpt soon!!
yeah i have had this aswell actually still have it i am booked in for a scan next week they think it might be cysts as i did not have any the last time i had a scan which was a few years ago.
