Angry Dumb freakin' doctor...

I'm feeling kind of annoyed. I just went to the endo that my regular doctor recommended, and he just kind of blew all my questions off.... "So, you're hairy... so you think you have PCOS?"

"Women have been dealing with the hair thing for years, since the Romans"

"You have kids... So why do you think you have PCOS?"

Etc, etc....

I have had hair/skin issues, my numbers (by what I read) are off, my periods are progressively more and more messed up, I've had gestational diabetes, etc...

But it's all about the hair on my chin! My mother has thyroid problems, and a goiter, and I might too, but it's all about my hairs! No, I never said that...

Let's ignore my weight, my chances of diabetes, my skin tags, my depression ("you've got three kids, why haven't you killed yourself yet?") my LAB WORK, and focus on the chin.

The vibe I got was, this doctor DOESN'T get it. Doesn't understand any of it. He was willing to test my thyroid and my A1c, but that was it... So, I think, maybe he doesn't know squat... And I'm not going to be the one to educate him, because he obviously doesn't want to be educated! He wanted to give me BCP or Spiro or "do nothing at all."

So, I think I'll call back my really nice gyno and see if she recommends someone who might be able to tell me something new... Because there's too much weird for it just to be nothing at all.

Default Tell your doc!

Definitely get a different referral, but also make sure you tell your doctor how you were treated. Maybe then the endo won't get any more referrals. Jackass...

Well, I'm already working on it. I've called my gyno back, she's sending my records to another endo (one who I saw when I was pregnant and had GD, but no longer deals with diabetes) and hopefully they can schedule me. And hopefully I can get a new referral.
