Cool Dumb question(and yes there is such a thing)

Last time my family physician did blood work I was told that my results were in a gray area(borderline) and that with two consecutive blood results with in the same reference range that he would have to diagnose me with me diabetes.
Well that was about a year ago.
Last night dh & I went to the movies I had an ice cream bar & some popcorn. Almost 4 hours later when we got home I was complaining of something(can't remember) and dh insisted he check my blood sugar. Well it was 137 he told me this wasn't good and that it's time to go see my doctor again for fasting bloodwork. I am convinced that any non diabetic person after eatting an icecream bar & popcorn would have tested the same results. Dh is convinced I have diabetes.
Who's right?(Please don't say him)
Thanks.

Within 2 hours after you eat anything, your blood sugar levels should be between 70 - 110, 137 is a little on the high side.

You can google it and find more information. Here's one link:

Good Luck,
