Hi ladies,

I have come here a few times for information since I was going through the 'tests' for a dx of pcos. I was diagnosed today. Doc says I have a "tendency" towards being IR as well as having tiny cysts all over my ovaries, hiruitism, and horrendous weight gain, even though I am doing everything I know how to lose weight.

He told me to go on a "restricted" diet, and then quoted, IR or Atkins. Any information of those two diets, would be appreciated - or if you could simply point me in the right direction (I looked a bit on the diet board- but didn't search heavily for any info).

We will be discussing meds next week, and he will do the 4hr test for IR.

Welcome to SC! You've come to right place for support and great information. My doctor actually just placed me on a PCOS diet. I see the nutritionist on Monday (sorry this info isn't much help to you at the moment!). But I know many other ladies on this site have experience with restricted diets that they can share with you.
