I posted a few days ago that I was still un-Dx with normal bloods but today I saw an endo who specializes in PCOS and got the Dx. He said they didn't do all the bloods they should have. He's very good by the way, one of the doctors listed as a member on www.pcosupport.org.
He's sending me for tests (blood, fasting glucose) but also a saline sonogram. Has anyone else had this? It's to check for uterine fibroids or cysts, which is different from ovarian cysts...so I'm wondering what sent up a flag on that one.
He also put me on the South Beach diet & exercise. I guess after the fasting glucose I'll see if he gives me any meds.
Just wanted to say hi and that this board is a Godsend... a true oasis.

I'm glad you got your diagnosis. Sounds like you have a good doctor.
I haven't had the saline ultrasound. I've had vaginal and abdominal ultrasounds.
Let us know how your bloodwork comes out.
Hugs
Jenny
P.S. Your kitty's name made me smile. Are you a Lord of the Rings fan? Most days I have to call my boys "Samwise" and "Frodo" because they're usually pretending about Lord of the Rings (and if not that it's Pirates of the Caribbean!)

Thanks Jenny! Yes I am a fan and he is named for the hobbit He is a little chubby and likes to hide in holes so I thought it was appropriate
I love Pirates too! That is cool that your kids enjoy both.

Spellingwitch,
So cute about your kitty. One of our cats is named Popcorn, because when I got him he would just "pop" from one place to the next (plus he's kind of white and yellow colored). Our other cat is Suds, and we named her that because my husband found her abandoned in a car wash and he brought her home.
Best wishes
Jenny

I've had the saline and it is a bit uncomfortable - not painful though. They fill you with a specific amount of fluid to show uterine contrasts (I think that was what it was but don't quote me). I had it done because of constant bleeding and I had thought that they could still see the ovaries but that it really was a uterine (ployps, fibroids) type of test. I've had it but I was sort of worried about the results and don't remember as much as I should.
