Default DX by US and symptoms, which Dr to I go to now?

I've been reading many links in the newbie road map (very cool!!!), but I am still not sure what I need to do. My family Dr sent me to get a US based on my symptoms, and the OB who did the US diagnosed me with PCOS and sent me home with a scrip for the minipill.

I am wondering if I should go back to my family Dr and discuss the PCOS with her and ask for more tests (hormone levels, IR). Or do I get a referral to an endocrinologist and they do these tests?

I have not started taking the minipill, would rather not until I find out more about what my body is doing.

How did you all get your tests done? By your family Dr first?

I think I've decided to go back to my GP and see her first, see if she has an endo to recommend, and get her take on PCOS so I know. I didn't like the way the OB handled it, she didn't seem to have time to educate me about it, just gave me some pills. I'll find out if my GP is in that camp, or somewhere else.

It will be a month or six weeks until I can get into the GP, so I'll keep reading and talking to you gals, so I'll be ready!
