My Mood: Points: 73,995.98 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 73,995.98 | Dxed Graves' Disease? I had been told for a long time that I had subclinical hypothyroidism. After some wacky TSH Lab results, more tests and a thyroid scan it turns out that I have Graves' Disease. Does anyone here have Graves'? My docs now say that my PCOS symptoms might actually be a result of Graves' - only that instead of the drastic weightloss associated with GD, I gained weight (a less common symptom).
Just curious to see if anyone else has been in this boat. |

She told me that her endo told her that my sister and I both needed to be tested since she has/had whatever it. She had her thyroid removed about 2 years ago. However, she was misdiagnosed at around 23 or 24 as being Bi-Polar. She was treated for bi-polar until she was about 48 or 49 and she just quit taking most of her meds and got a new dr. He was the one that found that it was Graves' disease. Her thyroid would function...thus causing her supposed "manic" episodes then it would quit working all together hence her "depressions" Needless to say all the lithium over the years destroyed her health. She is in worse health than my 82 year old grandmother!!! Anyways sorry to ramble so much. I will let you know as soon as I know if I'm positive for Graves' disease. Oh also mom's endo told her that just from what all my mom has told him about my female problems that he thinks it could be my thyroid causing them...I'm going to find me an endo here in town though. I hope all goes well with you and your treatment!!
Love and God Bless,
Amber

It matters what your thyroid hormone numbers are. The TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 numbers need to be optimized and in good places, with proper medication. Whether you have Graves, Hashi's, or whatever, the treatment is all the same - a protocol individually catered to your body to get YOUR blood levels normalized.
