Default Dyspraxia anyone?

Hello ladies!!!

After much clumsiness, I was today told that I have mild dyspraxia. It's a physical form of dyslexia where, basically, you can't coordinate.

Just wondering if anyone else out there has anything similar and if it might be related to PCOS at all (you never know!!!).

At least I know I'm clumsy for a reason!!!

Dani

Dani, how does this manifest for you? Is it hand/eye, or balance, or what? I used to have really bad balance and I would trip and fall all of the time and used to have poor coordination. I didn't know there was a name for it. My balance is way better now but I bump into things a lot (like doorways and benches, etc.). Physical activity and exercise are supposed to increase coordination. I've also found that strengthening my mind-body connection helps me to be more sure of myself and more self-aware physically and so less likely to bump into things.

Talking Dyspraxia

You posted a while ago but I thought that you would be interested in knowing that I've had mild forms of dyspraxia from the time I was about five/six years old. It's something that usually goes along with having a learning disability from what I understand, which I also have. When I was a kid doctors told my parents that I might wind up getting sick as I got older; I guess that I am, lol.

I have terrible coordination. I've been tripping over my ankles since a youngster. Now I can't help but wonder if something like this could lead to multiple sclerosis(okay this is the undereducated hypochondriac in me lol).

OK, that is totally weird - I never thought there was a name for this - I should ask my doctor.

I am the clumsiest person I know, especially my hands. I'm actually a pretty good dancer (have taken a lot of dance), so my overall coordination is not bad, but I drop things so easily or just have these episodes, like I'm watching myself in slow motion while I drop my keys down a well or something TOTALLY ridiculous that would never happen to anyone else!

So, thanks for sharing, Dani.
