Thumbs down Ear Boils???

Okay am i like a freak of nature or what??!! Has anyone else had this??

My chin no longer is the problem area as far as those nasty cystic acne-type boils go...those painful red fluid filled cysts that paralyze the whole side of my head...no...NOW their in my ear! This is the 2nd or third time this has happened since i had my girls...i never had them there before!

Right in the upper fold...theres at least two on my left one and one growing on top of it...and another tender area where i think another one is growing. i cant even lie that side down on a pillow! And i certainly cant pop it...i squeezed it a bit and just about fainted...wont do THAT again

They really hurt!!

I've had a few of these in my life, none too recently though. In my teens and twenties. They are dreadfully painful, I know.. Im so sorry that you have some. Im trying to remember what I did to help them, I think I just cleaned them a whole bunch and tried to dry up the affected areas with some kind of astringent. Im wondering if they have gone away for me because of the meds, diet, exercise stuff. The worst for me was hearing them pop when they did.. gag.

Im still struggling with my chin as well.. its a daily thing.. ugh, do other women have zits that last two weeks???

We just have all the luck dont we?

I used to get those a lot when I worked customer service for a shoe catalog. The ear pieces on the headphones really seemed to irritate my ears. Mine would show up mainly in the back of my ear. I just tried to keep them as clean as possible and hoped they wouldn't last very long. One girl I worked with got them so bad, her dr had to drain them for her.

I hope yours go away soon!

I get them from time to time on my ears, especially on the back of my ears, but occasionally inside one of them. If I can't pop it, I always try putting a wet washcloth, as hot as I can stand it, on the zit and then I use an astringent. (Witch hazel is good; it's not as harsh on the skin as alcohol.) Sometimes I do it twice a day. I don't know how long they would last if I didn't do anything, but they usually stop hurting in 3-4 days and go away withing the next 2-3 days.

Oh, I also try to drink more water. That's supposed to clean all sorts of toxins (maybe including excess hormones???) out of your body, which is supposed to help your skin. Again, I don't know how much that helps, if any. But I don't think it makes it any worse.

Hope some of this helps!

Debbie

Your not a freak of any sort...Even though at times i feel this way too!!! I have had them for years behind my ears..just in the past year i am now getting them on the front of my ears..I know this will sound gross but i am totally paranoid about them..i usually pop them first thing in the morning..Then i jump i n the shower and use dial soap to wash them real good..I have actually had them pop while using the phone.so i make sure i get em b4 they get me!!! As far as a cure..I really believe they are caused by hormone imbalance..I have tried everything and nothing works for long!!! I am a VERY clean person and dont believe washing will do anything except keep the smell at bay...Please check out the saw palmetto post..i am going to buy some today and give it a try..Along with hydrocortisone cream..I have practically given up over the years..but this sounds promising!!!!

Youre not a freak..unfortunately I get them too.. also on the flat part of skin before my ear canal in my ear, has been covered with blackheads for years. I get the pimples that hurt really bad in the crevices of the flaps of my outer ear, on the flat part of the skin inside and sometimes in the ear canal...ouch! ALso now I get them behind my ear on my head ..I have one that has come and gone..and is back again.. I had it injected with a special steroid that flattens them out at the dermatologist,..but the only way they say to actualy get rid of it would be surgery with scarring to cut the whole thing out.. If you have acne all over.. maybe antiobiotics would help.. I JUST started some..so I dont know. Let me warn you..there are many things yous hould not put in yoru ears.behind them is fine.. I get swimmers ear a lot which is inflammation and infeciton of the ear canal..and its made worse by scratching and getting anything irritating near there.. I once put benzoyl peroxide nearish the ear canal and got a nasty case of swimmers ear..though I never use alcohol on my sensitive face.. I think alcohol is the simplist thing to use for the ears..its drying yes..but thats basically what you want..rubbing alcohol is safe for the ear canal its in some of my ear drops at the top of the list....so everyday after the shower take a q-tip, dip it in alcohol, and swab all inside the ear crevices to keep them at bay..thats all I know to do.... good luck.

Hi ladies
Within the last year i found a name for this..FINALLY!!!!
Hydrentis supportiva{sp?} If you type i t in your browser..
It will give you quite a bit of info correct spelling or not!!
I only know of 5 people besides myself that has this....Before finding that site and now here!!! I am certainly not happy anyone has this..Yet now i dont feel ao alone!!!It is very painfull at times and it took a toll on my self esteem for years!!! I still get self concious at times about it..I recently lost my job due to nerve damamge and carpel tunnel in my rght hand{due to have surgery soon}..I worked in a very small diner...I have some thats been there for years on my jawline and i would find myself talking to someone and covering my face with my hand!!! It was also very hard for me at first because i had to wear my hair up in a ponytail...I was very worried people would see them behind my ears and on the back of my neck/jawline...Well i got over it!!! I had no choice had to wear the hair up...So i dont care now either..If its hot the hair goes up...LOL..Yet if someone wants to hug me i get a bit antsy..Worried they will smell gross up close..Even though i am clean ..i cant help it sometimes they get funky!!
I was so happy to find this place for my daughter..She has alot of symptoms of PCOS...Upon doing research for her...You girls have helped me also...What a wonderful group you girls are!! From my first post to this last one..I have recieved very fast answers and replies to all of my posts!!! If anyone wants to chat just pm me..I would be more than happy to try and help someone with the info i have!!!P.S.Lorianne my D/d gets frequent S/E also ..we put cotton balls in her ears then coat the outside with vaseline when she takes a showe r..it really helps to keep the water out...
Have a greatday!!!

Mine, I think, come and go with my allergies, at least as far as I can figure. They hurt like crazy, but I usually do just pop them (ice them first.) What I also get, not sure if they're related are swollen lumps in the fleshy part of the earlobe, they're not zits, because they're entirely sealed in, and they hurt horribly. They definitly come and go with my seasonal allergies.

It's nice to know I'm not alone, at any rate.
