Default early m/c #2

Hi Ladies:

I'm going through my second very early miscarriage in the last 2 months. I'm only pregnant long enough to get a couple very faint lines on FRERs, then they go away. The first one was confirmed by bloodwork (highest beta 19.5), but for the second, by the time they ran my beta (I was already 17 dpo due to the labor day weekend) it was negative. It makes sense since I stopped testing at 14 dpo when the line disappeared in order to maintain my sanity.

This is frustrating because I want to ensure the doctor's office records this cycle as a miscarriage (in case I have a 3rd and need testing for egg quality, genetic issues, clotting disorders, etc.) rather than a BFN. I'll have to convince the nurse I had a BFP the next time I call I guess.

It seems I can get pregnant fine with injectables (I'm 2 for 2), but staying that way for longer than a day or two is the issue. I'm wondering whether IVF would help.

Thanks for being there ladies. Writing it all out always makes me feel better.

I don't know if IVF would help, what I am wondering (I am wondering this for myself, but it might apply to you too) is if our progesterone levels are OK early on. My doctors never checked this, or anything else. They have a very "next time will be fine" mentality, but I'd like as much information as we could have. I have heard that progesterone can be an issue for women with PCOS, but my docs never seemed concerned.

Good for you, though for making sure it gets recorded as a pregnancy! If there's something going on, its important that they have the right data. I am sorry this has happend to you.

I was very lucky that my ob/gyn is deciding to do full testing on my second m/c. Because everything was going great with h/b and size, when the baby died - it was perfect size.

Outside of my ob/gyn i have asked my normal doctor to check for clotting disorders or thrombophilia - and she said it was a simple blood test - so there is no harm in just asking to have some tests done for you own peace of mind. i goggle what i want tested for. Sometimes we have to be determined around doctors, know what you want and ask for it, they work for you. I understand with insurance you may need to wait for 3 mc to cover egg quality etc, but blood tests should be fine. And next time you fall, get you doctor to take it very seriously and immediately get yourself checked for progesterone, estrogen etc even before bfp. Its sad we sometime have to crack the whip to get doctors of their butts.

my condolences to you and you hubby for your loss.
