I had an ultrasound yesterday and measured 5wks 5 days. I was able to see a heartbeat but it was slow at only 98 bpm. The tech told me this was normal as the heart is just forming. They want me to wait 2 weeks then go back for another ultrasound.
Has anyone else had an early ultrasound? If so, what was the heartbeat rate?

my first u/s for the twins was at 6w5d and the heart rates were 120 and 125bpm
I'd say you're right on track!

I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks on the dot and it was 115 so it sounds to me like you're right in the perfect range. A couple more days and it should be around where mine was. I just had my second ultrasound only 6 days after my 1st and it was 128 and I'm sure your baby's hb will rise too!

98 sounds absolutely perfect to me. At 5wk5d, it's amazing that you saw the h/b...so i would take that as a great sign.

Yea I agree, a lot of people don't even see the heartbeat until 6 weeks. I have never even had an ultrasound that early. At 6 weeks 1 day my baby's HR was 110 bpm.

Ditto everyone else, all my u/s are after the 6 wk mark and ranged from 118 to 135 in that 6th week

This thread and that website helped me! I was measuring 5wks 5days at my last u/s and they couldn't even tell me how fast the h/b was becuase it had just started and they couldn't catch it. We could see it flickering though. Hoping for a nice strong h/b for both of us at the next u/s!

I am pregnant with TWINS and had a ultrasound on tuesday and both the babies heart rates were 118. You babies heartbeat is just fine at this stage!

it is great you saw the hb that early so 98 sounds great I had an u/s at 7 weeks with my twins and they were 112 and 115
