Default Ectopic PG...???'s HELP!

I was hoping some of you cysters could help me. I was told yesterday (after low HCG and p4 levels in my blood tests) that I need an u/s because there are chances that I am experiencing an ectopic pregnancy.

I haven't had any cramping, but I've also never been pregnant before so I don't know if the stretching or slight cramps I have had is an ectopic pregnancy.

I haven't had any bleeding. I have all the classic pg symptoms - bbs larger and sore, frequent urination, crankiness, etc....I've also had some shoulder tightness, but my whole body has been achey from being tired at the end of the day.

Without just fooling myself and setting myself up for heartache Friday; I just haven't felt bad. I really need some feedback! Anyone?

Thanks in advance,
Anna

Hi there

I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone....I'm currently going through the same scare.

What I would say is that you aren't having continuous pain in one area and no bleeding then you should be OK...

I know how scary it is....I'm feeling the exact same fear at the moment. Check out the Pregnant Cysters bit...there's a thread there which I started about this very things. It's called 5 wks pregnant - pain in left side....I think.

I'm going back on Friday for another HCG test...so hopefully that will give an indication. If not then I have to wait two weeks to rescan.

Good luck to you.

Paddy

Paddy~ Thanks for the reply. I did check out your thread and it was quite reassuring. I haven't had any bleeding, and that seemed to be what everyone on that post agreed with.

We need to keep in touch though...both have appts on Friday, same kind of issues and EDD so close together!

Thanks again!

Anna

When I had my ecopic I had pain and bleeding. I had an ultrasound to confirm then lap surgery to remove it.

I had an ectopic pregnancy last fall, and I didn't really have any pain or bleeding. My early symptoms were betas that went up abnormally, brown discharge, and sharp pain that went away as soon as I had a bowel movement. At an ultrasound when I was about 7 weeks, they found a mass a little smaller than 2 cm by my left ovary. They treated me with methotrexate, a chemotherapy drug, and it worked well and preserved my tube.

I hope that neither of you need this information, but methotrexate is only available if you aren't bleeding or in pain, otherwise they do surgery.

Sending lots of hugs...Ber

I had my ectopic in 1995. The dr did laporascopic surgery, He removed the pregnancy and saved my tube. I had an Hsg in 1999 and my tube was fine. I even have a video tape of the surgery, (ewwww) don't ask why they gave it to me, I don't know!!
