It has been a long time since I have posted on this site. I have PCOS and have been diagnosed for about 1 year now. I have actually had it about 6 or 7 years.
I found out that I was pregnant last week. I was about 10 weeks along. I had all the pregnancy symptoms, mostly morning sickness. I was very excited to be going to have a baby.
This week I started having severe sharp pains on my lower right side. I went in the my OBGYN yesterday and we determined that it is an Ectopic pregnancy. He gave me a shot of Methotrexate and I go back in more to get more blood drawn. If the shot doesn't work I have to have the surgery.
Anyone with any information. Someone who has gone through this, I would appreciate it. I'm so scared.
Thanks for listening
Kimberly

Kimberly, I don't have any answers for you, but I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope you won't have to have the surgery.
Hugs,
Adrianne

Kimberly, I'm so sorry for your loss. Check out the message board here: www.ectopic.org It's dedicated to women who've suffered or are suffering from ectopic pregnancy. I had a bit of a scare with my last pregnancy and the women on that board were very helpful. Hope it helps.

I had an ectopic and took the methotrexate shots. I actually had 4 shots of it b/c the first 2 didn't work. You'll have b/w done every 2 days for a week. If your #'s haven't gone down much then you'll either have to have another shot or surgery. I chose the shots b/c mine was on my left ovary and there was no risk of my tube bursting. It really depends where the ectopic is as to what they will do. If it's in your tube, you usually need to move faster b/c it can burst.

ETA: If you're TTC, you shouldn't be on Spiro...even if there's a chance that you could get pg even if you're not TTC...just for future reference.

I went in today. My levels have dropped some. They were about 14,000 yesterday and after one Metho shot they are down to about 11,000. I had another Metho shot and must go back in on Monday for more bloodwork.
I'm still so sad and scared, but God must have had other plans for my baby.
I'll write more later.
*HUGS*
