Default ectopic pregnancy anyone?

Has anyone on this board suffered an ectopic pregnancy. If so, could you share your story. How was it resolved, what were your betas. Did you take the methatrexate shot, do surgery, or did it resolve on its own. Any info would be great.

I had a tubal pregnancy in July of '99, and I had to have surgery to remove the fetus from my tube. I was 9 weeks along and they said my right tube was on the verge of bursting, so they got to me in time. Now 9 years later, my right tube is completely blocked, and I have one working tube. I am still ttc baby #2, and just did my first month of Repronex fertility injections. Sorry that I couldn't answer your other questions.

When I had my ectopic last year, I got a BFP on a HPT then I would get BFN's, then another BFP. So I went to the dr. and my 1st beta was 5 then it went up to something around 15 then would drop again. finally at 5-6 it burst. I was on a morphine drip but luckily it stopped bleeding on its own. My body continued to support the "pregnancy" so my doc made me do provera to finally bleed on my own well over a month after it burst.

I never had any pain until it burst, no cramping or spotting nothing.

I wish you luck. Hope all turns out well.

I just had an ectopic pregnancy in June (next week will be 6 months) I did IVf.
My beta's were 14 days pO- 21 (4 weeks preg),16d-42, 20d-84, 22d 170 (totally normal rising times every two days) then at 5w2wd on sono "nothing in my uterus." My beta which was supposed to be way higher at this time went to 159ish. Re said you are having a M/c I new something was wrong. 2 days later now 5w4d nothing on sono and my beta went to 500 and cramping to the right side with spotting. Up until this point no pain or bleeding. At 5w 5D Methotrexate inj #1 given June 5,2006. My beta tripled to over 1000ish. On June 13 Methotrexate inj #2 given. For the whole two weeks I lived in fear of my tube rupturing and thank God it never did. June 30 beta less than 2 July 7 gallbladder surgery. What a month it was.

I hope nobody ever has to experience this. I am going for my beta Friday to see if my current IVF cycle is sucessful. I will not rest if it is positive until I see my baby/ies in my uterus safe. Please PM me if you need to I just gave the basics, there is a lot more then what I said about ectopic pregnancy loss. Good luck to you!

After 4years of TTC #2 I have gotten pg twice this year and both were Ectopic. Eventhough we weren't sure what side they were on we are assuming it was the right side and are going to attempt to stimulate the left tube and see what happens. I went to have a HSG don on Tuesday and bith tubes appeared to be open. But I am very leary after 2 ectopics within 6months of each other.

i also just suffered an ectopic pregnancy. heres my story during october cysle i was taking femara along with bravelle inj to develop follies i had a HCG trigger on Oct 17 and IUI on Oct 18 i took a HPt on Oct 28just to see if HCG trigger was out of my system and sure enough BFP so on Oct 30 and Nov 1 i took another and very faint lines. I went on for a beta nov 1 and sure enough BFP although levels were low at 23 that nite I began spotting but dr said sometimes it happens went again Nov 3 for beta this time at 19 and was still spotting dr said to just wait for af i was going to miscarry so a week passed and i was still spotting but pregnancy symptoms were starting tender breasts, nausea and occasionally a lite pain on left side well another week passed spotting had stopped but symptoms were gettting worse. I cld dr and asked for another beta to check what was up I went in on Nov17 beta was 1100 dr said possibly i was still pregnant or posibble tubal I was 6 1/2 wks then they did u/s and found nothing in uterus was sent for pelvic u/s and couldnt find anyhthing. nov 20 beta was 2440 and pain on left was still there. beta Nov 21 -2545 dr admitted me to hospital for observation because of pain and gave me methotrexate inj next day beta jumped to 3500 but was sent home because pain had subsided. so nov 28 came around and went in for beta to see if inj worked nope beta at 4000 so dr did anouther u/s in uterus... nothing.. i was sent to hospital for u/s and sure enough iwas 8 weeks pregnanct with a baby in left tube and to make things worse they showed me its heatbeat. well that night i had surgery to remove pregnancy..I am thankful my left tube was saved im just hoping it heals well. dh and i decided we are going to wait until feb to try again. i hope this helps..

I had an ectopic in 1994. I had positive urine tests but they were hit and miss positive.
Went for an US and the radiologist found the baby in my tube. I think I was about 5-6 weeks.
I had surgery to remove the pregnancy, but my tube was ok afterward.
They rarely resolve on their own.
I'm sorry to hear your news.
edited to add-- I started bleeding which is why the doc did an US and found the ectopic

So sorry you have to go through this. I had an ectopic in October. I was 5-7 weeks along - donot know betas. I had constant pain on one side, so they did the u/s and found nothing in my uterus. I m/c on my own before the docs had a chance to intervene. However, the pain was worse than labor and birth (and not at all similar) and I ended up in the ER due to severe hemorrhaging. I donot recommend letting things resolve on their own. I remember being so scared because I was so weak I couldn't open my eyes but I had an overwhelming feeling that if I fell asleep I would never return. It was traumatic.

I just had an ectopic last week....I was 6 weeks pg. My betas were going up very slowly and nothing was seen in my uterus from an u/s. I had severe cramping on my left side and bleeding. I went to the ER last Saturday night, did all kinds of tests, but the pain went away, so I was released. I ended up back in the ER Tuesday night and was admitted into the hospital. My liver enzyme numbers were too high to get the shot, so I ended up having surgery late Wednesday night. I had my left tube removed. The dr did laproscopic surgery. I'm still very sore and very depressed.

Update: I had a D+C done on Sunday night 12/03/06. It showed that I did not have an ectopic pregnancy, which surprised both my doc and I. It must have been God. They found evidence of a miscarriage. So this is a bitter sweet victory since DH and I concieved for the first time. Thank you all ladies for taking the time to warn me and ease my mind. The soulcyster board has truly been a great source of supports. Thanks ladies! And Nicole, I understand your depression. but DH and I are trying to look at this as positive as we can. Just say to yourself-"Hey, we did conceive". That is the attitude that has stopped my tears. You can pm me if you need me since we are going through kind ot the same thing together. God Bless!

I had a etopic in 1993. Had a positive result with a urine test and 3 days later, had the pain to one side and some little bleeding. I had to have surgery as I almost suffered from a hemorage and almost died. Everything went fine after that, didn't get pregnant until 1998 and had my miracle baby in 1999. I still would like to have another, but don't want to add to my weight issue. I had a miscarriage in 2004 and was under lots of stress. I don't know the real reason why it happened, but it did. I'm so sorry to all of you for the recent losses and past ones. I wish we could all feel better about it, but I do know things happen for a reason and I know my lost children are in heaven and I look forward to seeing them one day!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

I had a nasty etopic! I didn't even know I was pregnant. I didn't even have health insurance when I had mine. My right side was a little sore but I didn't even think twice about it. My period came, but it never really went away. That last little bit just wouldn't taper off. I took a pregnancy test just to see what it would show. Sure enough, the pregnant line was darker than the other line. I went to a free clinic to take a pregnancy test to try to get on medicade. I told them my symtoms, and they told me to get to the real doctor immedately for an ultrasound. We had on scheduled for 2 days later, but a couple hours later my whole right side went into really bad pains all the way from my shoulder to my feet. We went into the emergency room right away. After waiting in the wating room for 5 hours, I finally got into the room. They did several tests. Many pelvic exams, ultra sounds, and they kept poking me in the stomach. Well, it ended up being an etopic pregnancy and they had to go in and remove the pregnancy immedately. When they got in there they discovered I was about 7 1/2 weeks along, and I had 2 liters of blood in my abdomen. I had to stay 2 days in the hospital because of all of the blood loss. I wouldn't wish what happened to me to happen to anyone! If you suspect your having an etopic, please get into the doctor. Don't be in my shoes!

Default Had an ecotopic Nov 2005

I had an ectopic in November of 2005. DH and I conceived while we were evacuated from hurricane Katrina (we live in an outlying suburb outside NOLA, so thankfully had minimal damage by the skin of our teeth). We were gone for 19 days, came home, and I got a BFP. Thought I suffered a mc two weeks later. As I could not locate my regular obgyn, I took the loss as a loss, and tried to get on with things. There was much work to be done... Well, after three visits to the emergency room, none of which proving I had an ectopic, a D&C from a dr in the e.r., constant excruciating pain, and a very patient new obgyn, it was discovered that I had an ectopic, after a ultrasound showed blood pooling in the back of my abdomen and a huge cyst on my right ovary. I lost my left tube. I was 13wks pg. My obgyn tells me I'm very lucky to be alive.

After the ectopic, my pcos symptoms went into overdrive. I stopped having regular periods, and began having extreme cases of "problems" (like acne, weight gain, etc.) I'd had for a lifetime. I consider myself extremely blessed to have two children before this problem reared it's head, but I still suffer with the loss (hopefully temporary) of my fetility and overall health.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's something that changes with time, but it will always be there. My prayers go out for your continue healing.

I had an ectopic in may 2000-it was our first preg. we were trying for only a month-missed af-took a test it was bfp-a very FAINT + but the line was there-called an obgyn office and they scheduled it for 5 wks-(i thought that was a way long time to wait but what did it know -then) things seemed to be going on normal.....it was days before my appt and dh and i had just bd-ed (sorry tmi) and i was in the shower and i started bleeding-it wasn't real heavy more like AF-i didn't know that some women bleed during preg. so we imediately went to er (it was a fri night)(isn't it funny the things you remember?) Now i live in a real small town and the docs aren't that great (i know that now) but back then i didn't have an bad opinion....and coming from NJ-why should i have 2nd guessed them right? they didn't do a u/s said everything was fine and sent us home.the next am i was still bleeding but also started to feel a little "achy"...went back in and they told dh i was probably feeling "constipation" and just needed to go home and take a healthy bm...no kidding they really said that. I had no reason to think that this doc STUNK so i went home-increased my water and fiber and waited.....the next day the pain was gone but i was still bleeding-so we went to a different er (1 1/2 hrs drive away) and the did a u/s and tested betas they were at 580 and said they thought it was a m/s-that "i had lost the baby earlier and my body was just now trying to expell it." (i'll never forget that sentance either) and scheduled an appt for me w/ a ob/gyn from that town for the day after next....so we went home and waited till tues. I LOVED the doc i went to-he tested my betas again and they went up to almost 10,000. Not doubled but they were rising....my belly wasnt sore/i could sit fine/get up fine/ he wanted to wait and see what was going on-all my vitals were good and he felt comfortable waiting to see what the heck was going on if i was. he felt it was ectopic but there where some things giving him doubts-and he'd hate to start the surgery and find out something else was going 'cause if it was a normal preg. i would probably loose the preg. due to the lap. surg....so we went up there every other day for like 6 days.
my #s weren't doubling like they should have but they were rising but he was positive it was an ectopic. i had surgery the next day and he was shocked when he was "in there". i had a ton of internal bleeding and my tube looked like there was a lemon in it...he said i have NO idea how you didn't rupture or have any pain even from the internal bleeding...the lap surg went smoothly-(i don't know why he never did another u/s though rather then have us wait 6 days but oh well) i was started on bcps as soon as i stopped taking the contraction pills and the end of that pack i didn't get af and after being 2 wks late he said come in just to get checked and i was preg again!!!!! all along that preg. the u/s-es dated me getting preggers like 3 days after my ectopic surg. but i know that wasn't true cause 1) i was on contraction pills for i think if i remember right 5 days 2) i wasn't allowed to bd for 2 wks and 3) dh and i SWORE we were NEVER going to try again-we had an ectopic the 1st preg-our chances of the next being the same went up and we had crap luck to begin w/ (being 1 of the 10%).......
