Anyone else have eczema? I have read a few places (not many) that eczema is sometimes associated with PCOS. I have it really bad on my feet and now it is spreading to my hands.
Does anyone have any tips on how to treat/heal it?
Dry brushing would help, too. Use the brush to "pull" the toxins toward the colon... in other words, don't just brush your skin, but start in one area and pull all the way (in a sweeping motion) toward the colon. Think of it as a broom and you are sweeping the "dirt" into a pile... right in the middle of your stomach, where your colon can take care of it and get rid of it.
That is my recommendation, and what I used to get rid of "incurable" eczema.

Yes, I too suffer from Eczema and I have had it for years. I am on Celestone M cream which the Dr prescribes for me and I know that it does help keep it under control. I also know that if you get the "crazy itching" which no one who has not had eczema can sympathise with you, to run your hand (if it is on your hand ) under cold running water. This relieves the itching. I know that it may be a bit tough to do it in a public place or with any part of your body. I also have been told to keep the area moist, so I use lotions with no perfume in them. I have had it on my feet and also on my hands and I know how crazy this disease can make you. My hubby didn't understand what it was like until I told him, "Imagine that you are standing on railway tracks with a freight train coming towards you. Now, normally you would jump out of the way, but with Eczema, you would just stand there unable to do anything but scratch.".
Also, if mine eczema gets too bad, I get a gauze pad, put cream on it and then get hubby to wrap my hand. Not sure if you are supposed to do this, but I know that it actually helps me not to scratch in the middle of the night.
I have it on my scalp, ears, eyebrows, nose, and parts of my face.
I use Elocon liquid and it's awesome! I also use Selsom Blue Daily shampoo every other day. You can get Rx shampoos but they can get expensive. The key is to let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
Other things I have noticed is peanuts/peanut butter make it flare up really bad, so no more of that stuff. I've also heard if you eat a lot of sugar that makes it worse.

I'm gonna stop looking back and starting moving on
And learn how to face my fears
Love with all of my heart, make my mark
I wanna leave something here
Go out on a ledge, without any net
That's what I'm gonna be about
Yeah, I wanna be running

I had eczema appear for the first time in June. I have patches on my neck, and it comes and goes around my eyes. The doctor gave me a prescription steriod cream and told me to only use it for about a week each time I have a flare-up. I changed all my makeup to be talc free, stopped using Clinique eye and face cream, don't put soap on my eyes but use an eye makeup remover, use only Cetaphil moisturizing cream from the drug store, and use fragrance free bath soap. The neck patches have faded, but they are not completely gone, and the eyes still flare up. It is a very frustrating condition!
I have eczema on my hands and on occasion in the crook of my elbow, I either use hydrocortisone or Cetaphil which is really good, they even make a facewash which is nice and its a thick, unscented cream so it stays on through hand washings ect! Hope that helps!

I have suffered from eczema for many many years. The only place I have it is on the bottom of my feet and the palm of my hands. It really flares up when I am pregnant. I have to have my husband scratch my feet (with socks on) because they itch and hurt so bad. This pregnancy it is not as bad. When I was pregnant with my son I would be up all night because they hurt and itched so bad. I just wanted my feet and hands to be cut off. I was going to a dermatologist who was using uv light therapy. That seemed to help some. I will not use any steroid creams (even though they say are safe) while I am pregnant, so I pretty much suffer. I have been putting shea butter on it and that helps with the dryness. Lotion, lotion, lotion is what I do most of the time. It sucks, I know.

my father has it really bad from head to toe. He says it was much much worse when he was a kid. He uses some form of steroid cream (i can't remember what its called at the moment) which seems to help. But its still pretty bad....his legs remind me of fish scales...ewwww He uses the cream all the time and he puts a oil treatment on his head to moisten his scalp.
He's also allergic to peanuts (as well many other things)
I have it on my feet (which can get really bad sometimes especially in the summer wearing sandals. But I just put alot of vasiline on them and wear socks and they get better.
I also have it on my eye brows, sometimes my face is really dry and my hands...
moisturizer and lotion are my friend.

I don't have eczema but DS does have a mild case that flares up mostly in the winter time. I use a homepathic cream on him called "Florasone cream" made by Boericke & Tafel, a division of Nature's Way Products, Inc. Here's one online retailer that sells it: http://www.evitamins.com/product.asp?pid=761 This cream provides immediate relief for him & his outbreak clears up within 24 to 48 hours depending on how severe it was.

Just a gardening-chef-domestic engineer-SAHM who helps out in DS's school just about everyday (I'm there for the big bucks -LOL! )
I have eczema on my scalp, face, and ears. Sometimes on my back. The only soaps that I can use is dove, ivory, and dial. Seasonal changes cause me to have bad flare ups along with stress. Drink plenty of water and avoid wearing polyster or any fabrics that irritate you skin.
Also, I was my hair with head and shoulders. Its works better then those expensive shampoos.
