I'm looking for your experiences...was it terribly embaressing? Did your wife go with you? Better to go solo?
(it's hard not to giggle but I'm glad he's getting sucked in!!)
Thanks & keep your fingers crossed! |

Hell, I figure after all my wife's gone thru (biopsies, etc) least I can do is shoot into a cup. I would hope that I'd be able to do this w/o cracking up
I think tho, that I would go solo if/when the time comes.

It's not that bad, and you shouldn't be embarrassed because the people in the lab get guys in there all the time doing to test... They even get men and their wives in there together doing there thing... THEY are use to it... I work in a lab and see it all the time...

Points: 3,203.93 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,203.93 | My DH did 2. The first one was a preliminary semen analysis. The second was for the sperm wash for our first IUI. We did have to do it at the lab. We live to far from the office to do it at home and it has to be kept warm. Yes DH was very, very embarrassed. But he lived through it. No I didn't go in with him, either time. I was nervous and embarrassed for him and thought I'd just make matters worse and it probably would have taken longer.(I would have giggled to much I think...lol) Everyone at the lab is very professional and they actually just act like he's giving a urine sample or blood sample or something. They do have "reading material" (no videos, at least for us) but the magazine was just a penthouse from like the 1970's...lol. Not very arousing DH said... Poor guy. But he did fine, and actually has to do another one either thursday or friday for our next IUI. I figured with all I have to go through.... shots, u/s, b/w etc.. this is the least he can do. At least he gets to have an orgasm, My vaginal u/s are NOT that fun....LOL |

Points: 2,761.23 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,761.23 | The Deed has been done.
Thank you to all who replied and here's how it all went....
First of all, he went alone. He had business things to take care of after the appointment so I wasn't there to giggle and make things worse. Phew!
The office was for many different types of testing and he was probably the only one there for a SA. It seems my doctor, who asked for him to do this, was completely incorrect and he could have done the deed at home. So, if you have to do this guys--ask the office that is doing the analysis when you make the appointment.
The room he was sent to was small, had a table and a really comfy chair. He wasn't to sure about sitting on it at first. Who knows what could have been on it---well, we do know....
And they had a little bit of reading material there.
After the deed is done you leave the sample in a water bath and you write down the exact time it was left.
And then you walk away..... the end.
He said it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do. Funny, we read a website earlier that mentioned to take care that the jar doesn't cut you and that some samples had foreign substances like carpet (missed the cup?) and tooth filling (ha ha ha!)
Now to wait for the results. How long with that take??
Take Care Guys! |

So he was able to do his "thang" at home and then drive to the clinic with the cup between his legs keeping it warm!
Glad he didn't have to do it in a little doc's room...although I'm sure he could have managed! |
