Default Eight-week long period, PCOS and Metformin

Hi all,
Firstly thank-tou in advance to anyone who responds to this post, I really need some answers or just some confirmation that someone else has been in a similar situation as I am in now.
I'm 24, have PCOS (was diagnosed in 2001) have been bleeding for eight weeks now, have just been put on Metformin and am basically wondering if the bleeding will be helped by the Metformin or not. If so, how long til I see results etc?
I already have one daughter, she was two last week, and my husband and I would like another baby. We have been trying to conceive for nearly ten months now, with me only having two periods in that time that both lasted for a week, about three months apart, and now this one which like I said is still going.
I have an appointment with a fertility specialist next month, but I would love the bleeding to stop before then if possible.
Any clues as to what is going on? Really any insight would be welcome.
Thanks again.

I have bben there and I suggest asking your docote for Provera, that is what they give me to stop my never ending periods and it usaly works in about 3 days. i am sure they will prescibe it for you, I have been using this to stop mine for about a year now. I hope this helps, and I am also on Metformin and I started to notice results in about 3 weeks. Have a great day

any sort of birth control will stop the bleeding but if you are trying to conceive then obviously you dont want birth control; however I just started metforming and I am already seeing improvement and its only being 3 days. Best thing is to call your OBGYn they seem to have many options to help you stop bleeding.
