Question Electric Epilator Experts (question)

Can someone give me more information about electric epilator? Where can I buy it and how much does it cost? How effective is it? Please tell me.

I have lots of facial hair (chin, side burns, upper lip) and I pluck everyday sometimes twice a day (for about 15 minutes) - I am tired of plucking now. So I am looking for new ways to get rid of my facial hair.

I also have lot of body hair But that's another story :-)

Thanks in advance.

Smile Epilator!! I love it!

Hi hun!

I wanted to let you know that I love my epilator. I use it under my chin and it gets the area very smooth and I only use it once or twice a week....it is great. I love it! I got mine at K-mart and it cost $49.99 but it was really worth it! I think you will really like it and benefit from it. It does hurt a little at first..but not that much...no more than waxing and plucking! I hope you get an epilator and have great results!! Good luck and take care!

Your friend and cyster,
Katrina

Thumbs up Gotta have one

I ordered my Gently Gold epilator through a catalog called Gaiam. They're also online at www.gaiam.com (amazingly enough ) I seem to remember it costing about $40-50. It was a while ago.

I use mine every day but could probably get away with every 2-3 days, shaving in between. I'm an elementary school teacher, and SHORT, so many of my kids are at the "critical height" for observing ANY facial imperfection...so I'm a little extra paranoid! My hair is very dark too, so it doesn't take long for fuzzies to show up.

OTOH, I'm going to be saving my pennies to try IPL treatments. As well as the epilator works, I'd rather not use it all!!!

Question Making the switch

ok, I've been shaving my face for many years now and I am not sure how to start using an epilator? Would I have to let it grow out? and for how long? The hair is pretty thick and coarse would it work just as well?

I've definately been wondering about epilators...its my understanding that they are just basically a machine doing your plucking for you? Is that right?

I've been waxing some of the body hair for a few weeks, and already I've noticed it coming in lighter and less coarse. Like the other cyster, I'm worried about my face though. I've been shaving for YEARS and I wonder if I'm gonna have to hole up for a few days just to let the hair grow out so I can epilate. Can someone help on this?

Thumbs up Epilator!

Hi cysters!

The epilators work rather well!! It is a machine that basically plucks the hairs for you.....but it plucks several hairs at once. It does leave the area very smooth...and I notice my hair growth starts in about 3-4 days after using it. I use the epilator and shave and this leaves the area nice. You can use the epilator everyday but it may irritate the skin. I like using the epilator/shaving method. I use the epilator and when I notice stubble in about 3-4 days I shave. Then I use the epilator again. I usually use my epilator every Saturday. I use it once a week sometimes twice! You should try and epilator...I think you will be pleased...I feel a lot better using an epilator than using a razor!! I hope this helps! Take care!!!

ooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I LOVE MY EPILATOR.

I purchased the Remmington Gently Gold Electric Epilator at K-mart for about $49.00 which is totally worth it. the information package says that the discs are intended to remove hair as short as .25mm (0.01") so if your hair is shorter than that you'll have to let it grow a little bit anyway the machine does smart a little bit but it takes me no longer than 5 minutes to do my chin neck, and upper lip. did I mention I LOVE MY EPILATOR? when i first started i used it about once or twice a week, but after a few months i now use it only once every 2 months or so!! I love it! I wish that i could work up enough nerve to try it on my legs!

and the epilator does work as well for coarse hair it just may take you longer to epilate than it does someone with thinner hair. My hair used to be very dark and coarse too, but since using the epilator it comes in slower, much much thinner, and lighter good deal to me!

linni says buy it!

Ok! I am ready to try this new remedy for getting rid of my FH (facial hair). Now all I need is a good 2-3 days to let the suckers grow out! without it being noticed and that might not be possible here at home. OHHH I'll get a hotel room here in Vegas! Take a vacation away from everybody and relax. This might work! Thanks girls.

Hiya girls...

Just a quick question....do you have a special facial epilator or do you just use the same model for legs and face.

Thanks,
Orla.

Girls,

I am so happy and excited that you are thinking about or going to try the epilator! I think you will be pleased! I just wanted to let you know you can get one epilator and use it everywhere...you just clean it...and they give you a tiny brush and directions on cleaning it. Good luck and I hope you all get the great results you are looking for!!

How in the world do yall do it on your face and legs? I have done my arms before but I will tell you that I am fighting mad by the time I am done cause it hurts so bad. Is there anything that we can get that will numb the area first or something? I would LOVE not to have some not so womanly stubble! Please if anyone can thing of anything let me know!!! I tried my chin one time and let's say I didn't get past 3 hairs I don't think. I just ended up shaving the rest. Thanks for any advice. XOXOXOX~Moonie
