Can anyone tell me how successful and economical home kits are? Do they hurt? How much? How long is it before results are seen? Thanks guys x

Default Hey Rach!

My boyfriend help me try this out.

I did not notice any posotive result (perhaphs I did not try it for long enough??)

However, I was razor shaving at the time, and I have lots of cuts, and a painful shaving rash. You can not use electrolysis with cuts or rashes. I found this out and it really was painful. I wanted to continue with the treatment, but my boyfriend convinced me not too.

Thus I gave up the treatment.

If you do not get niks and rashes and are prepared to waiting a long time to see results, then it could be good.

Sorry tho to dampen your spirit - i HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE -this does not mean you will!!

Love A x

Hi RachelY...

I've been doing electrolysis treatments since September of last year. With an electrolysis technician, though. I also thought about looking for an at-home machine for myself, so I asked her about them. Not sure if she was tooting her own horn or not, but the advice she gave me was to stick with a professional because they have the proper machine to use, they've been taught how to do it (hopefully) with less pain and faster results and she said that generally the at hom machines aren't usually strong enough to do the job as needed.

Not sure if it's the advice you needed, but it's my experience and I thought I'd share with you.

BTW - my treatments are expensive, but I think they're totally worth it and they're working! I've stopped aldactone (with a panic thinking I'd get a LOT of dark hair) when I started TTC, but it hasn't been the case.

Hope this helps.. Good luck to you!

From what I understand, the home kits dont use needles, which the professionals do. The needles, or probes, are what go down into the hair folicle and kill the hair. The home kits just use some tweezer-type things that dont go into the folicle.

I tried a home machine, it did less than nothing.

Home Kits do nothing. The electric current is not strong enough.
