i had an electrolysis treatment over the weekend for my side lip and am interested in hearing about your experiences with electrolysis. has it been successful - what are the hair growth return rates? are you on any meds? were your hormones in balance or not?
my hormone levels are balanced. my doctor and i do not know why i am getting the hairs. i think it might have to do with insulin as i am constantly hungry though i am of average weight. if you have any thoughts as to what may be causing the hairs, pls share.
I've not had any experience with electrolysis, but I really hope it works for you. Best of luck!

I started going to electrolysis treatments when I was in 7th grade, in 1987, and continued until 1992. Unfortunately, I haven't experienced any permanent hair removal - but my aunt, who used to go to my clinic for a short time, switched finally, because she didn't think it was working correctly. Sure enough, she found another clinic and has permanent hair removal, with the exception of a few stray hairs she has to take care of once in a while.
I wish it had worked out for me, because my parents spent so much money and time - and I'm not sure exactly what the problem was, but I still have hair in the same places, and just as much of it, as I did 15 years ago. Too bad we didn't know then what we know now.
But overall, I think you should have good luck with it - though some spots are a bit more tender than others. I was always advised to take two tylenol before my appointments, and that helped some, usually. Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any other questions!
I am currently having treatments. I've been doing it for about 4 mos and I'm still having to go once a week. I am 15 wks pregnant and my electrolosist will only do short wave treatments as opposed to the blend technique. I was told that short wave is the old method and has proven to be effective but it just takes a little longer than the blend. My only s/e are little scabs that take a few days to go away and since I'm going once a week for treatments I basically always have scabs - a little annoying. So, I guess I can't really say that it works as of yet. Good luck!

A couple of yrs ago I spent around $1000 trying to remove hair from the same area with laser treatments (EpiLight). I found that laser seems to work faster but all of it came back within a few months! I felt like it was a rip off.
Just thought I'd mention that
