I have been thinking about getting electrolysis. My chin and stache hairs are resistant to facial hair removal creams. If I use regular Nair it burns me raw. I bleed and my skin gets very red and dry. Wax doesn't work either. I am tried of plucking everyday.
Also...does anyone else of "hairy" times of the mouth. I am always hairy, but sometimes its HORRIBLE and I get wicked stubble everyday.
i am also cosidering electroylsis. I actually have a consult on thursday and they are going to do a mini treatment as well I will let you know how it goes I am tired of my chin hair it is very course and dark in that area.
I had electrolysis years ago (high school). It was very effective. I am actually thinking about going back for more on my chin. It is time consuming because hair grows in cycles, but I thought it was worth it. Although each session was about 15-20 minutes. Slightly painful, but not too bad.
I also had laser on my arms, which was not effective at all (I'm super white with very dark arm hair). I would like to try it again, but I would try another doctor since I had such bad results witht he arms. I went 4 times and it was $1500. I want to have my upper thighs done (at least the back) because I get very painful ingrown hairs there.
I am also seriously thinking of getting electrolysis on my chin at least. I really hate the fact that I have small patches of stubble on my chin. I dont't have very much chin hair, but the plucking with tweezers is getting tiresome and slightly painful. I would love to get rid of it, and never see it again.
I have PCOS. I have been getting electrolysis treatments for almost 6 yrs now. I have seen really good results compared to when I started, but I still have to go every week. I am planning to try laser.
I did 6 treatments of laser and have since moved on to electrolysis for the lighter, but thick hairs that laser didn't touch. Laser was the BEST investment EVER! I have only had one elelectrolysis appointment and will be having another next week. I highly recommend either one.

Any idea how long are the laser sessions and how many of them are required ? I am thinking of doing laser treatment for chin hair.
For chin, the session would be about 5 minutes...if that long. Most people require 4-6 sessions (spaced 6 weeks apart)

I'm medium toned, and have ZERO issues with laser. Most places will do a patch test to make sure your skin can tolerate it. I don't even have any redness.

Today I had full body laser done (my birthday present to myself this year). The tab was $420. The session lasted about an hour. I've found that laser sessions done in doctor's offices are cheaper than laser 'spas'. Plus, most offer package deals that make things cheaper. If I had done the various body parts on different days, my tab would have been 20% higher.

i have done electrolysis and then laser. i wont do electrolysis cause i never saw any thing that improve from it. it just seem that i was wasting my money. laster worked good. i would look into all over. one office here was like 200 or so for a package. (im not sure the price for sure) they had a you do 4 sessions and get one free session.

I did electrolysis weekly for about a year. Very painful, even with Emla. I also find laser incredibly painful, but nothing compared to electrolysis. so anyway, very diligent for about a year on the face. It made the hairs lighter and less course but it didn't eliminate them as it was supposed to. It didn't do nearly as good a job as laser.
I did electolysis, my facial hair is mild to moderate, and I was happy with it and didn't find it too painful (and I am a big wuss)!!! Now that I am off the pill and my hormones are all out of control (ttc) my facial hair is more problematic and some of the good electrolysis did is being undone.
