Question Electrolysis and cover up question!

hi all,

I am new to this board, and very impressed with all the topics associated with pcos.... My question is, i just started electrolysis for upper lip and chin. I use bare minerals foundation plus the loose powder to cover the shadow on my upper lip i always seem to see. It doesnt seem to do that good of a job! Has anyone tried using products that really help cover that, and if so what brand name....

Also, the other hard part is with electrolysis, she told me DO NOT tweeze hair in between sessions,so this is making it really more noticable than before, cause now there are many more hairs on upper lip. The chin area has way more hairs, but its lower, so the shadow is not so noticeable. Im really depressed about this. she told me to use cuticle scissors, and clip the hairs , and keep using the cover up. well, the scissors do not seem to even help!!!! I am going today for another session. to make it worse i have an outdoor wedding tomorrow and i feel as if everyone will be looking and staring.

any advice on make up tips or just in general would be so appreciated!
take care and thanks,
ariesladi25

When I did laser treatments, they said no tweezing, no waxing, but you CAN shave...I'd be willing to bet you could shave with electrolysis as well.

...And I've never been able to cover the upper lip fuzz.

I have been doing electrolysis for a few years and suffering the ingrown hairs, redness and reactivity while I wait for it to end...

If you want the electrolysis to be successful, you cannot tweeze/wax and I seriously doubt you can shave or Nair it. Any action that disturbs the hair root will re-activate the hair growth. I would recommend that you keep cutting the hair with small scissors when you need to be out in public, just like the electroysist said. And, did you know that the current acts like a burn on our skin? That means it is really important to use sun protection when you are outside. A tinted sunblock might be just the thing!
