I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue... had blood work done recently and my ALT level was 524 - WELL above the normal range of 20-55. I am quite concerned. I gave birth 2 and half months ago, currently take metformin, blood pressure medication and fenugreek and blessed thistle to help with breastmilk supply.
If anyone could share any personal experiences I would appreciate it. My doctor is going to be checking me for hepatitis I guess but not until February. When I went for my blood work, I did have a cold and had taken tylenol a day or so before.
I know this may not help you at all, but I just thought I would share what happened to me. I had elevated ALT at the same time that it was found that I had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung). Mine was also around 500. My doctor didn't think they were related at all. They rechecked it 2 days later, while I was in the hospital, and it was back down to normal. A few months later, I had blood work again, and it was elevated again, but that time I think it was around 200. I was checked for hepatitis, and everything came back normal. They never found a cause for mine being elevated and it has not been elevated since.

Mine was elevated 6 weeks post partum due to gallstones. I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks later. If you have any pain in your upper abdomen (right side, I think), you might want to have an ultrasound of your gb, it is very common after having a baby.

Tylenol! Especially Tylenol mixed with the other things you are taking. Be careful with Tylenol, I used to take it at night sometimes to help with sleep. I went to the dr for bloodwork and my liver enzymes were elevated and my ankles were swollen so big I could barely put a shoe on. I knew it was either my BCP or Tylenol causing it. I cut Tylenol out and maybe 2 days later my ankles were back to normal size and my enzymes went back down to normal with testing the following week.
