Melissa- I just went through that the last couple of months. My doctor ran some tests because of hair loss I am having. She said my DHEA was elevated (485). She referred me to an endo. I went to the endo and she tested my DHEA again and cortisol levels and the DHEA had dropped to 270 in 2 months. Not sure why. She wants me to come back in 3 months and recheck. She said at this point there is nothing to worry about but she said elevated DHEA is common in PCOS. If the DHEA stays elevated, I know they will check to see if it is coming from your adrenal glands with a CT scan. I have not had to do that yet. Good luck with your endo. I am sure everything will be fine!
